My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
From Ankara
Our Turkish cooking class in Ankara is a relaxed, flavour-filled day tour that takes you from a busy neighbourhood market to the kitchen table, where you sit down to a lunch you have prepared yourself. Guided by a professional chef or an experienced local host, you learn how Anatolian home cooks balance spices, herbs and fresh produce, and you go home with a recipe booklet so the dishes can be repeated in your own kitchen.
Turkish cuisine draws on Ottoman palace kitchens, nomadic Central Asian traditions and the farming villages of Anatolia, and Ankara sits at the heart of that story. Meze plates open almost every Turkish meal; sarma shows the patience of home cooking, with each vine leaf rolled by hand; manti, tiny meat-filled dumplings topped with garlic yoghurt and spiced butter, is a dish central Anatolia proudly claims as its own. Your host explains the stories behind each recipe as you cook, which makes this daily tour as much a cultural lesson as a culinary one.
The experience lasts around six hours and suits complete beginners as well as keen cooks. It works well as a gentle daily excursion between sightseeing days, or as an Ankara day trip for travellers who want to meet locals rather than queue at monuments, and it runs from Ankara with the transfers already arranged. Vegetarian menus are possible if you let us know in advance; guests with serious food allergies should think twice before booking. Comfortable clothing and footwear are recommended.

Ankara Cooking Class Programme At around 09:00 your English-speaking guide collects you from your hotel in Ankara and takes you to either a family home or a neighbourhood cooking studio. On the way there is the option of a walk through one of the city's lively markets, where you help pick fresh seasonal produce and learn to recognise the spices, herbs and ingredients that give Turkish food its character. From about 10:30 the class starts in earnest: led by an experienced chef or home cook, you prepare three to four classic dishes, typically a meze such as ezme or haydari, then hand-rolled vine leaves or tiny manti dumplings as the main dish, and finally baklava or sutlac for dessert, while picking up techniques and the stories behind each recipe. Around 13:00 everyone sits down together to enjoy the meal you have cooked, served with Turkish tea or coffee. Afterwards there is time for an optional short stroll through the neighbourhood or a nearby historic spot, and at about 15:00 you are driven back to your hotel with a recipe booklet in hand.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
