Our daily Eskisehir tour from Ankara takes you to one of Central Anatolia's liveliest university cities, a place where carefully restored Ottoman streets sit beside a canal-like river and green modern parks. This guided day tour combines heritage, local food and relaxed sightseeing in a single, well-paced journey.
Eskişehir's name means "old city", and Odunpazarı is the reason: this hillside district, once a firewood market, preserves rows of two-storey Ottoman homes with projecting bays, now home to galleries, glass studios and coffee houses. The wax museum, founded by the city's long-serving mayor, is a light-hearted way to meet famous faces from Turkish history, while the Porsuk River, lined with footbridges and cafés, has earned the city its nickname "the Venice of Turkey". Sazova Park spreads over some 400,000 square metres and is loved by families and photographers for its storybook castle, pirate ship and space house.
This daily excursion is fully guided in English and Turkish, with lunch and the entrance fees for the sites in the programme included. The drive from Ankara takes about three hours each way with a short break, so expect a long but rewarding day. Wear comfortable shoes for the cobbled lanes of Odunpazarı and the paths of Sazova, and bring a light layer for the evening in spring and autumn. A gondola ride on the river is available as an optional extra.

Eskisehir City Highlights Programme Your guide collects you from your hotel in central Ankara between 07:00 and 07:30, and the group heads west on a scenic drive of roughly three hours, with a short rest stop along the way. Arriving in Eskişehir at around 10:30, the first visit is the Yılmaz Büyükerşen Wax Museum, the country's pioneering wax collection, where lifelike figures of Atatürk, Ottoman sultans, poets and present-day personalities make for memorable photographs. Next comes Odunpazarı, the city's oldest neighbourhood, where you wander among restored wooden Ottoman houses, browse craft shops and galleries, step into the Glass Arts Museum and can pause for Turkish coffee and a traditional sweet. A relaxing boat trip on the Porsuk River follows, revealing the bridges and riverside cafés that inspired the city's nickname; a gondola ride can be added at extra cost. Lunch is served at a local restaurant, a good moment to try çibörek, Balaban kebab or met helvası. In the afternoon you explore Sazova Science, Culture and Art Park with its Fairy Tale Castle, miniature world landmarks, Japanese Garden, pirate ship and space house, with free time for photos. At about 17:00 the group leaves Eskişehir, arriving back at your Ankara hotel around 20:30.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
