My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
This daily Salda Lake tour from Ankara brings you to one of Turkey's most striking natural landscapes: a deep crater-like lake in the province of Burdur whose milky white shoreline and vivid blue-green water have earned it the nickname "Turkey's Maldives". It is a long but peaceful day tour designed for nature lovers and photographers who want to see this protected lake with an experienced guide.
Salda is one of the deepest and cleanest lakes in Turkey. Its pale shores are formed by hydromagnesite, a rare carbonate mineral, and the lake drew international attention when scientists compared its sediments with those of Jezero Crater, the landing site of NASA's Perseverance rover on Mars. Local people have long believed the mineral-rich water is good for the skin. Because the lake is a protected area, access to some white-sand sections can be limited, and your guide will explain where you may walk and swim.
This daily excursion is fully guided in English and Turkish, with hotel pick-up in central Ankara, return transport, lunch and the entrance fees in the programme included. The road to Salda takes around five to six hours each way with comfort breaks, so the day starts early and ends late. Spring and summer suit swimmers, while autumn and winter offer quiet, reflective views. Bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, a camera and, in season, a swimsuit and towel. An optional boat ride may also be possible, subject to availability.

Salda Lake Nature Programme The day begins early with a pick-up from your hotel in central Ankara between 06:00 and 06:30. The drive south-west towards Burdur takes around five to six hours, broken up by comfort stops. You reach Salda Lake at about 11:30 and have time to take in the turquoise water and bright white shoreline, stroll along the beach, relax and photograph the scenery; when the season and weather allow, you can swim in the designated areas or follow a path into the surrounding pine woods. Lunch is then served at a restaurant near the lake, featuring regional and classic Turkish dishes, with vegetarian and vegan choices available on request. The afternoon is free for further exploration: walk the shore, visit nearby viewpoints for a panoramic look across the lake, or take an optional boat ride, subject to availability. Your guide also explains the lake's volcanic setting and the unusual mineral formations that led researchers to compare it with Mars. At around 16:00 the group sets off for the return journey, arriving back at your Ankara hotel at approximately 21:30.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
