My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
This daily Cappadocia tour from Ankara packs the very best of central Anatolia into one long, rewarding day: a sunrise balloon flight, an ancient underground refuge, rock-cut churches and the famous fairy chimneys, all with a professional English-speaking guide. It is an ideal day tour for travellers based in the capital who want to see Cappadocia without booking extra nights.
Cappadocia's landscape was shaped by ancient volcanic eruptions whose ash hardened into tuff, a rock soft enough for wind, rain and people to sculpt. Ozkonak Underground City shows how local communities dug deep tunnels, ventilation shafts and rolling stone doors to hide from raiders. At Goreme Open Air Museum, monastic communities cut chapels straight into the cliffs and painted them with Byzantine frescoes that remain remarkably vivid, which is why the site is so important for the history of early Christianity in Anatolia. Imagination Valley earns its name from rock pillars that resemble animals, while the Three Beauties trio of capped chimneys is the region's best-known symbol.
As this daily excursion begins in the middle of the night, bring warm layers for the chilly dawn, comfortable shoes for uneven paths, sunglasses and a charged camera. Lunch is served at a local restaurant; breakfast after the flight is optional at an extra charge. Children under six and pregnant guests cannot join the balloon flight. It is a long but unforgettable Cappadocia day trip that returns you to your Ankara hotel the same evening.

Cappadocia Balloon & Valleys Programme Your guide collects you from your Ankara hotel between 01:00 and 02:00, depending on the season, for a comfortable drive of about three and a half hours in an air-conditioned vehicle to the balloon launch field in Cappadocia. On arrival you can enjoy light snacks and drinks, take photos as the balloons are inflated and listen to the pilot's safety briefing. If the weather allows, you then drift above the valleys for around 20 to 40 minutes as the sun rises over fairy chimneys and rippling rock formations. After landing, a champagne toast and a personal flight certificate mark the occasion; a traditional breakfast can be added at extra cost. The ground tour starts at Ozkonak Underground City, where narrow passages lead through levels once used for refuge, followed by a ceramic workshop where artisans demonstrate pottery and you may try the wheel yourself. After a Turkish lunch at a local restaurant, you pass through Cavusin Village with its old Greek houses and continue to the Goreme Open Air Museum to see its painted cave churches. Further stops include the Esentepe viewpoint, a carpet weaving centre, Imagination Valley and the Three Beauties fairy chimneys. On the way back to Ankara you pause at Salt Lake for photos before being dropped at your hotel in the evening.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
