This six-day private Orthodox pilgrimage tour joins the holy places of Istanbul, the former Constantinople, with the Church of St Nicholas the Wonderworker at Myra on the Mediterranean coast. Domestic flights between Istanbul and Antalya, a licensed guide, private vehicles, 4-star hotels and dinner every evening are included, so the journey can be devoted to prayer and to the saints.
In Istanbul you venerate at the Life-giving Spring of Balikli (Zoodochos Pege), stand beneath the Byzantine mosaics of Hagia Sophia and the Chora (Kariye) Church, and pray in the Patriarchal Church of St George at the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the Phanar, which keeps the relics of St John Chrysostom and St Gregory the Theologian. The day ends at the holy spring of the Blachernae (Vlaherna) Church, where the robe of the Mother of God was once kept.
A short flight takes you to Antalya and along the Lycian coast to Demre, ancient Myra, where St Nicholas served as bishop in the fourth century. You pray in the Church of St Nicholas, which once held his tomb, and see the rock-cut Lycian tombs and Roman theatre of Myra. In Antalya you explore the old town of Kaleici, Hadrian’s Gate and the Duden Waterfalls, before flying back to Istanbul for a Bosphorus cruise and the Grand Bazaar.
The price is per person for two travellers sharing a double room; parish and church groups receive lower per-person rates, and a Russian-speaking guide can be arranged with a supplement.

Welcome to Istanbul. Our driver meets you at Istanbul Airport and takes you to your hotel in the historic peninsula. Depending on your arrival time, your guide accompanies you to the Church of the Life-giving Spring at Balikli (Zoodochos Pege), one of the most venerated healing springs of Orthodox Christianity. In the evening you have dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Istanbul.
After breakfast you visit Hagia Sophia, for nine centuries the cathedral of the Patriarchs of Constantinople, and see its mosaics of Christ and the Mother of God from the upper gallery. Your vehicle then takes you to the Chora (Kariye) Church, famous for its mosaics and frescoes of the life of Christ and the Theotokos. In the afternoon you pray in the Patriarchal Church of St George at the Ecumenical Patriarchate in the Phanar and finish the day at the Blachernae (Vlaherna) holy spring. Dinner and overnight in Istanbul.
An early transfer takes you to the airport for your flight to Antalya. On arrival your guide and driver take you along the Lycian coast to Demre, about two and a half hours away. Here, in ancient Myra, St Nicholas the Wonderworker was bishop. You pray in the Church of St Nicholas, where his tomb was venerated for centuries, then visit the rock-cut Lycian tombs and the Roman theatre of Myra. In the evening you return to Antalya for dinner. Overnight in Antalya.
With your guide you walk through Kaleici, the old town of Antalya, entering through Hadrian’s Gate and following its narrow streets of Ottoman houses down to the Roman harbour. In the afternoon you drive to the Duden Waterfalls, where the river plunges into the Mediterranean in a curtain of white water. Free time in the evening before dinner. Overnight in Antalya.
After breakfast you transfer to Antalya Airport for your flight back to Istanbul. In the afternoon a cruise on the Bosphorus shows you the palaces, fortresses and waterside villas between Europe and Asia, followed by time in the Grand Bazaar, one of the oldest covered markets in the world. Farewell dinner and overnight in Istanbul.
After breakfast and depending on your flight time, our driver takes you to Istanbul Airport for your journey home. End of our services.
