From Oludeniz
The daily Oludeniz tour is a well-paced introduction to the history and landscapes around your resort, starting with the Lycian rock tombs above Fethiye, continuing to the haunting ruins of Kayakoy and finishing with free time on the beach at Oludeniz. With pick-up from your hotel, an English-speaking guide and comfortable transport, this day tour from Oludeniz lets you enjoy the region without any planning.
Guests staying on Rhodes can enjoy the Oludeniz Tour as a day trip from the Greek islands to Turkey — from Rhodes the ferry takes about 85 minutes, so the excursion can be planned between the morning and evening sailings. Pickup is at the Fethiye ferry terminal, and the tour is timed so you can catch the return ferry comfortably. For longer itineraries we check the ferry timetable first and confirm that the full programme fits your day. Please bring your passport and check the Turkish entry requirements for your nationality before travelling.
The Lycians, who ruled this stretch of coast more than two thousand years ago, honoured their elite with tombs carved high into the rock. The Tomb of Amyntas, dating to the 4th century BC, imitates the front of an Ionic temple, complete with columns and a pediment, and still carries the name of the man buried inside. A short drive away lies Kayakoy, the old town of Levissi, which was left empty after the 1923 population exchange between Greece and Turkey. Its roofless houses, chapels and narrow lanes cover an entire hillside and give a moving picture of village life a century ago.
The day finishes at Oludeniz, whose sheltered lagoon and pebble beach sit beneath Babadag mountain and are among the best-known shores in Turkey. Lunch is not included in this daily excursion; you can buy a meal at the village restaurant in Kayakoy. Wear comfortable shoes for the uneven stone paths and pack swimwear, a towel and sun protection for the beach.
For anyone staying in the area, this Oludeniz day trip is an easy way to combine ancient history, a remarkable ghost village and a classic Mediterranean beach in one relaxed, guided daily tour from Oludeniz.

Fethiye Rock Tombs, Kayakoy & Oludeniz Beach Programme Your guide welcomes you in the lobby of your hotel in Oludeniz in the morning, and the day opens with a short drive to Fethiye. The first visit is to the Lycian rock tombs carved into the cliff behind the town, where the Tomb of Amyntas was made for a person of considerable status. You can walk around the tomb, look at its temple-style facade and photograph the broad view over Fethiye below. From here the route climbs into the hills to Kayakoy, the abandoned village best known as the Ghost Town. Wander among more than one hundred crumbling stone houses and visit the churches set at different heights on the slope while your guide explains how the village came to be deserted. There is a break to eat at a family-run restaurant in the centre of Kayakoy, paid locally. In the afternoon you continue to Oludeniz beach to rest on the shore and swim in the clear blue water. On the way back the vehicle stops at a couple of viewpoints for photographs before you are returned to your hotel.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
