This daily Kayakoy village tour from Oludeniz takes you away from the busy beachfront to a quiet valley where nature and history meet. With hotel pickup and an English-speaking guide, you spend a relaxed half day among the empty stone houses and hillside chapels of Kayakoy, one of the most atmospheric places near Fethiye.
Holidaying on Rhodes? The Kayakoy Ghost Village Tour is an easy day trip from the Greek islands: take the morning ferry to Fethiye, join the tour, and sail back in the evening (from Rhodes the ferry takes about 85 minutes). We meet you at the Fethiye ferry port with your private guide and vehicle and time the programme to the ferry schedule. For longer itineraries we check the ferry timetable first and confirm that the full programme fits your day. Please bring your passport and check the Turkish entry requirements for your nationality before travelling.
Kayakoy, known in Greek as Levissi, was home to a thriving Greek Orthodox community until the population exchange between Greece and Turkey in the early 1920s. When its residents left, the village was never fully resettled, and today hundreds of crumbling houses, cisterns and churches cover the slopes of the valley. Walking the old cobbled paths, you can still make out doorways, fireplaces and window frames, which gives the site a moving, almost frozen-in-time feel. The surrounding pine-clad hills and farmland make the setting peaceful and photogenic.
This day tour suits anyone who wants a gentle break from the sun loungers of Oludeniz: the walking is easy, the pace is unhurried and there is plenty of time to sit and take in the view. Wear comfortable shoes for the uneven paths and bring water and a hat. Lunch is not included in the price, so plan to pay for your meal at the village restaurant. As a short daily excursion it fits neatly between beach days, and it pairs well with other Fethiye day trips such as boat cruises or a visit to Saklikent.

Kayakoy Ghost Village Programme In the morning your guide meets you in the lobby of your hotel in Oludeniz, and the group sets off in an air-conditioned vehicle on the short drive inland. Leaving the lively beach resort behind, you soon reach the green valley of Kayakoy, home to the famous Ghost Town. Your guide introduces the story of this abandoned Greek village before you start exploring on foot. Over 100 roofless stone houses rise in rows up the hillside, with a few churches standing at different levels of the old town. You are free to walk the narrow lanes, look inside the ruined homes, take photographs or simply sit and enjoy the quiet scenery of the valley. Around midday there is a break at a local restaurant in the heart of the village, where you can order a meal at your own expense. After a further stroll you can visit a small pottery workshop and relax by the poolside before the return. At the end of the tour you are driven back to your hotel in Oludeniz.

It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
