Held every Tuesday along both banks of a canal near the harbour, the market has drawn local residents and visitors alike for many years thanks to fair prices and a warm, chatty atmosphere. Farmers sell freshly picked produce, olives, herbs and regional specialities, while neighbouring stalls are packed with clothing, fabrics, kitchenware and souvenirs. It is the best place in the area to see daily life in a Turkish market town, and the nearby seafront makes a pleasant spot for a break.
After shopping, the group visits Paspatur, Fethiye's oldest neighbourhood, where restored Ottoman-era houses now hold cafes, craft workshops and boutiques. Here you call at a gold centre to admire both contemporary and traditional Turkish jewellery. The programme ends at Kayakoy, known in Greek times as Levissi. Its hundreds of stone houses, chapels and fountains were abandoned after the 1923 population exchange, and today the empty hillside village is one of the most evocative sights on any Oludeniz day trip. Lunch is not included, so bring cash for food and shopping; the tour operates on Tuesdays.

Tuesday Market, Old Town & Kayakoy Programme In the morning your guide meets you in the hotel lobby in Oludeniz and the air-conditioned coach drives you the short distance to Fethiye. The day begins at the traditional Tuesday market, which stretches along both sides of a canal near the marina. Spend your time exploring the aisles at your own pace: stalls overflow with fresh fruit and vegetables, spices and local delicacies, while others sell clothing, household goods and presents for friends back home. The market has attracted locals and travellers for generations with its fair prices and friendly mood, and the waterfront close by is ideal for a short stroll. Next the group moves on to Paspatur, Fethiye's old town, where you visit a gold centre to see a range of international and traditional jewellery and can explore the narrow lanes of the historic quarter. The last stop is the village of Kayakoy, home to the well-known Ghost Town, a deserted Greek settlement whose empty houses give a striking picture of a community left behind. Afterwards you are driven back to your hotel in Oludeniz.
