Our daily Konya tour to the Mevlana Museum and Lake Beysehir is a full guided day tour that pairs the city's most famous sight with the lakeside landscapes and history of the Beysehir district. Starting from Konya with hotel pickup and lunch included, this daily excursion covers Sufi heritage, Ottoman and Seljuk-era architecture and a Hittite sacred spring in a single day.
The Mevlana Museum in central Konya holds the tomb of Jalaluddin Rumi, the Sufi mystic known in Turkey as Mevlana, and was once the lodge of the Mevlevi order. Its rooms include the Matbah kitchen, the tombs, the Tilavet Chamber for Quran recitation and the Sema-Hane, the hall of the whirling ceremony. Next door, the Selimiye Mosque was begun in 1558 for the future Sultan Selim II and completed in 1567 in classic Ottoman style.
In the afternoon this Konya day trip heads west to Lake Beysehir, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Turkey, whose level changes with the seasons. It is a national park, supplies water for irrigation and is an important habitat for many bird species. In the town of Beysehir, the Esrefoglu Mosque combines carved wood, stone, brick, tiles and paintwork, and its timber interior has survived more than seven centuries in striking condition. The last stop, Eflatun Pinari or the Violet Spring, is a walled pool fronted by a monumental Hittite relief of winged sun discs held up by hybrid figures. It is an easy, rewarding daily tour from Konya.

Konya & Lake Beysehir Programme After pickup from your hotel, the day opens in the centre of Konya at the Mevlana Museum, the mausoleum of the Sufi poet Rumi and the former home of the Mevlevi dervishes, famous worldwide for their whirling ceremony. With your guide you visit all the open sections, including the Matbah kitchen, the tombs, the Tilavet Chamber where the Quran was chanted and the Sema-Hane ceremonial hall. Steps away stands the Selimiye Mosque, an Ottoman work begun in 1558 for Prince Selim and completed in 1567 after he became Sultan Selim II. Lunch follows at an authentic local restaurant. Afterwards you drive to Lake Beysehir, a national park with 32 islets and a rich bird population, and in the town of Beysehir you step inside the Esrefoglu Mosque of 1299, admired for its wooden columns and ceiling combined with stone, brick, tile and painted decoration. The final visit is Eflatun Pinari, the Violet Spring, a Hittite shrine from the 13th century BC with a wall of relief figures beside its basin. The tour then returns to Konya for your drop-off.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
