My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
17 Days Turkey Cultural & Historical Heritage Tour: Ankara, Eastern Anatolia and Istanbul Private Tour
Highlights of the 17-Day Cultural & Historical Heritage Tour
Seventeen days are enough to see Turkey from end to end: this private, fully guided itinerary begins in Ankara and finishes in Istanbul, linking the Hittite heartland, the green Black Sea coast, the volcanic plateaus of Eastern Anatolia, the stone towns of Upper Mesopotamia and the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia. In Ankara you visit the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and the Ataturk Mausoleum before driving to Hattusa and the rock reliefs of Yazilikaya. Amasya, with its Ottoman houses on the Green River and the tombs of the Pontic kings, leads on through Niksar and Ordu to Giresun and the coast road to Trabzon.
Around Trabzon the programme includes the frescoed church of Hagia Sophia and the Sumela Monastery near Macka. You then climb through Gumushane and Bayburt to Erzurum, continue to the ruined medieval capital of Ani, see the castle and Cathedral of the Apostles in Kars, and reach Dogubayazit beneath Mount Ararat for the Ishak Pasha Palace. Two nights in Van cover the Muradiye waterfalls, Van Fortress, the Urartian citadel of Cavustepe and Akdamar Island with its carved Church of the Holy Cross.
Heading south-west, the route passes Tatvan, Bitlis, the Malabadi Bridge, Silvan and Hassuni to the basalt walls of Diyarbakir, then Mardin and Deyrulzafaran Monastery, Urfa and its sacred fish pool, and the beehive houses of Harran. From Kahta you watch the statues of Mount Nemrut, then explore Antakya, Daphne and Tarsus and cross the Gulek Pass via Tyana and Nigde into Cappadocia, where the Red and Green Tours take in Uchisar, Goreme Open Air Museum, Cavusin, Avanos, Pasabag, Devrent Valley, Urgup, Derinkuyu, the Ihlara Valley, Belisirma, Selime and Pigeon Valley.
The final part is in Istanbul: after the flight from Kayseri you visit the Spice Bazaar and cruise the Bosphorus past Dolmabahce, Ciragan and Beylerbeyi palaces, Ortakoy and Rumeli Fortress, followed by Camlica Hill and a shopping tour. The next day covers Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome and the Grand Bazaar. Included are 16 nights of hotel accommodation, 16 breakfasts, 15 lunches and 16 dinners, an English-speaking guide, air-conditioned private transport, airport transfers and the entrance fees in the itinerary; the domestic flight to Istanbul is not included.

What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
