The Lycian Way runs for roughly 540 kilometres along Turkey's south-western coast and is considered one of the country's great long-distance footpaths. This six-day trip concentrates on its spectacular western end above Oludeniz and Butterfly Valley, where the trail climbs along cliffs, threads through pine woods and drops down to hidden beaches. Over four walking days you cover stages of 8 to 15 kilometres, all graded medium, staying in simple, characterful village pensions and a village house, while your luggage is moved ahead by vehicle on the stages that change accommodation.
The first walk follows an original section of the ancient route from Ovacik, with Oludeniz lagoon below you, past the village of Kozagac and on to Faralya, finishing with a sunset from the hill above Butterfly Valley. Next comes a shorter stage from the pension to Aktas and Kabak beaches, where you can swim before returning to Faralya. The third walk leads through forest from Faralya via Kabak to the mountain village of Alinca, and the last one continues to the ruins of ancient Sidyma, a Lycian and Roman town with a hillside necropolis, before ending in Gey village.
The package takes care of the practical side so you can focus on walking. It includes five nights in typical guesthouses, every breakfast, four lunches and five dinners, a daily snack pack, transfers from and back to Dalaman airport, the coach transfer to the trailhead and luggage transfers. An English-speaking tour leader accompanies groups of more than five people. Good walking shoes, a sun hat, swimwear and a reasonable level of fitness are all you need to enjoy this wild and beautiful stretch of the Mediterranean coast.

You are welcomed at Dalaman airport and driven along the coast to Faralya, a quiet village perched high above the sea near Butterfly Valley. After checking in to your pension the rest of the day is free to unpack, rest and enjoy the views across the valley. Dinner is served at the pension in the evening. Overnight in Faralya.
After breakfast a coach takes you to the starting point of the original Lycian road at Ovacik. The walk begins with views down over Oludeniz, and as far as Kozagac village the path follows the authentic historic route, later alternating with forest tracks. In the late afternoon you reach the panoramic hill above Butterfly Valley in time to watch the sun set over the sea. A packed lunch is provided during the day, and dinner awaits you back at the pension. Overnight in Faralya.
Today you set off on foot straight from the pension, with Butterfly Valley opening up beside the trail for much of the morning. The route descends towards the coast at Aktas and continues to Kabak beach, a secluded bay framed by steep wooded slopes, so remember to pack your swimsuit for a refreshing dip. After the walk you are driven back to Faralya, with lunch included during the day and dinner at the pension. Overnight in Faralya.
Following breakfast you leave the pension on foot while your bags travel ahead by vehicle. The trail winds through woodland via Kabak and climbs steadily, opening up wide views over the mountains and the sea along the way. Lunch is included en route. In the afternoon you arrive at Alinca, a small village high on the mountainside, where dinner is served at your village house accommodation. Overnight in Alinca.
The longest stage of the trip starts directly from the village house, with your luggage again transferred by vehicle. Woodland paths and open viewpoints lead to the ancient city of Sidyma, where you explore the remains of a Lycian and Roman settlement and its necropolis. From the ruins you continue on foot to Gey village, the end point of the trek. Lunch is provided during the day and dinner at the pension. Overnight in Gey.
After a final breakfast in the village you are transferred back to Dalaman airport for your onward journey. This concludes our services.
