My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
This daily Kayakoy ghost town and Faralya tour from Dalaman combines a haunting piece of Aegean history with one of the loveliest coastal valleys near Fethiye. Guided in English and run with hotel pickup and return in Dalaman, this easy-paced day tour is ideal if you want culture in the morning and time by the sea later on. Lunch and the entrance fees in the programme are included.
Kayakoy lies close to the remains of an ancient Lycian settlement, often identified as Karmylassos, although some sources say this has never been proven. In the 18th century Greek families from the Dodecanese islands settled here and built Levissi, which grew into a sizeable town. By 1923 roughly 6,000 Greeks lived here, and when the population exchange between Greece and Turkey began they had to leave. The roofless houses and chapels that remain make Kayakoy one of the most atmospheric sights on the Lycian coast.
The second half of the Kayakoy day trip leads to Faralya, the area Turkish visitors know as Butterfly Valley. Lush greenery runs down to a sandy shore, and the spot has become hugely popular in recent years. You have around two hours here, so pack swimwear, a towel and sun protection.
Practical notes: this daily excursion uses an air-conditioned, non-smoking coach, and comfortable shoes help on the uneven paths of the ghost town.

Kayakoy & Faralya Programme The day starts with pickup from your hotel in Dalaman, after which you travel towards Fethiye and the hillside village of Kayakoy. Your first stop is the ghost town, a maze of abandoned stone houses about 7 km from Fethiye, near the remains of an ancient Lycian settlement often linked to Karmylassos. As you wander the lanes, your guide tells the story of Levissi, founded by Greek settlers from the Dodecanese in the 18th century, which grew to some 3,500 homes and was home to around 6,000 people when the 1923 population exchange between Greece and Turkey forced them to leave. Today it is counted by National Geographic among the world's top ten ghost towns. Next the tour continues to Faralya, the green coastal valley Turkish people call Butterfly Valley, where you have about two hours to enjoy the scenery and, if you wish, swim in the sea. At the end of the day the coach brings you back to your hotel in Dalaman.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
