My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
10 Days Historic Turkey Tour: Ankara, Cappadocia, Konya, Eskisehir, Bursa & Istanbul Private Tour
Highlights of the 10-Day Historic Turkey Tour
This ten-day journey traces Türkiye's story from the Anatolian plateau to the shores of the Bosphorus, beginning in the capital and ending in Istanbul. In Ankara you visit the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, whose collection spans from the Palaeolithic to the Hittites, Phrygians and Urartians, climb to the citadel, see the Roman Temple of Augustus beside the Hacı Bayram Mosque and pay your respects at Anıtkabir, the monumental mausoleum of Atatürk, before an evening walk through lively Kızılay. A scenic drive then crosses the dazzling white flats of the Salt Lake on the way to Cappadocia.
Cappadocia's Red Tour takes in the Esentepe viewpoint above Göreme, the rock fortress of Uçhisar, the frescoed cave churches of the Göreme Open-Air Museum, a pottery demonstration in Avanos and the fairy chimneys of Paşabağ and Devrent Valley. In Konya you step into the world of Rumi at the Mevlana Museum, then visit the Selimiye Mosque, the Alaeddin Mosque and the tile-decorated Karatay Madrasah. Eskişehir surprises with its youthful energy, the 16th-century Kurşunlu Mosque complex and the colourful wooden houses of Odunpazarı, while Bursa, the first Ottoman capital, offers the Green Mosque and Green Tomb, its historic bazaar and a cable car ride up Uludağ or a stop at an ancient plane tree.
The finale in Istanbul covers both sides of the city's character: the Spice Bazaar and Rüstem Pasha Mosque, a boat cruise past the Maiden's Tower, Dolmabahçe Palace and waterfront mansions, the colourful streets of Balat, the Pierre Loti café hill above the Golden Horn and İstiklal Street, followed by the Hippodrome, the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia in the Old City. The tour includes nine nights of hotel accommodation (Ankara 2, Cappadocia 2, Konya 1, Eskişehir 1, Bursa 1, Istanbul 2), buffet breakfasts, lunches on touring days, guided sightseeing in every city with professional English-speaking guides, entrance fees mentioned in the programme, city tax and transport in an air-conditioned, non-smoking vehicle.

Day 2 Ankara - Salt Lake, Cappadocia 🍽 Breakfast · Lunch ▾
After breakfast your guide collects you for a full day in the capital. The Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, founded in 1921 and given its present form in 1968, presents a remarkable overview of human history in Anatolia, from Palaeolithic finds to Hittite, Phrygian and Urartian treasures. You then walk up to Ankara Castle, with its old houses and small market, and visit the Temple of Augustus, built by the Romans and later used as a church, together with the neighbouring Hacı Bayram Mosque. After lunch the tour continues at Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of Atatürk, with its Hall of Honour, the Road of Lions and the museum, and ends with a stroll in the Kızılay district. Overnight in Ankara.
Day 3 Salt Lake, Cappadocia - Cappadocia: Uchisar, Goreme, Avanos, Pasabag, Devrent 🍽 Breakfast · Lunch ▾
An early start takes you south across the steppe for about two hours to the Salt Lake (Tuz Gölü), one of Türkiye's largest salt lakes. Walk out onto the glittering white crust, take photographs and enjoy the silence of this vast landscape. The journey then continues to Cappadocia, where you check in to your hotel and have the evening at leisure. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 4 Cappadocia: Uchisar, Goreme, Avanos, Pasabag, Devrent - Konya 🍽 Breakfast · Lunch ▾
The day opens at the Esentepe viewpoint, where your guide explains how volcanic ash and erosion created Cappadocia's unique rock formations. Next comes Uçhisar Castle, the highest point in the region, followed by the Göreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985, with rock-cut churches decorated with frescoes. Lunch is served in Avanos, a town famous for pottery, where you watch a live demonstration at the wheel. In the afternoon you explore the fairy chimneys of Paşabağ (Monks Valley) and the imaginative stone shapes of Devrent Valley before returning to your hotel. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 5 Konya - Eskisehir, Odunpazari 🍽 Breakfast · Lunch ▾
Leave Cappadocia and cross the wide Anatolian steppe to Konya. Here you visit the Mevlana Museum, home to the tomb of Jalal ad-Din Rumi, the 13th-century poet and mystic who inspired the order of the Whirling Dervishes. Inside you see the kitchen, the tombs, the Quran recitation room and the Semahane ritual hall. The tour continues with the Selimiye Mosque next door, the Alaeddin Mosque and the Karatay Madrasah, known for its exquisite tile work. Overnight in Konya.
Day 6 Eskisehir, Odunpazari - Bursa, Uludag 🍽 Breakfast · Lunch ▾
After breakfast you drive northwest to Eskişehir, a modern university city with a European feel. Your first stop is the Kurşunlu Mosque and Complex, built in 1525 by Çoban Mustafa Pasha during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent. You then wander the lanes of Odunpazarı, where restored Ottoman wooden houses in bright colours line the streets, with time to visit local museums and chat with residents along the way. Overnight in Eskişehir.
Day 7 Bursa, Uludag - Istanbul: Spice Bazaar, Bosphorus, Balat, Pierre Loti, Istiklal 🍽 Breakfast · Lunch ▾
Today you continue to Bursa, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire. Visit the Green Mosque and the Green Tomb, admired for their turquoise tiles, then enjoy lunch before exploring the historic bazaar, where you can taste and buy chestnuts, honey, olive oil and Turkish delight. Later you ride the cable car up the slopes of Uludağ, known in antiquity as Olympus; if it is not operating, you instead enjoy the view beneath a plane tree more than a thousand years old. Overnight in Bursa.
Day 8 Istanbul: Spice Bazaar, Bosphorus, Balat, Pierre Loti, Istiklal - Istanbul: Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia 🍽 Breakfast · Lunch ▾
Depart Bursa for Istanbul. The sightseeing starts at the Spice Bazaar with its aromas of spices and Turkish delight, followed by the Rüstem Pasha Mosque, decorated with blue İznik tiles. A boat then takes you along the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus, passing the Maiden's Tower, the Bosphorus Bridge, Dolmabahçe Palace and elegant wooden mansions. After lunch at a local restaurant you explore the colourful streets of Balat, ride the cable car to Pierre Loti Hill for tea with a view, and finish on İstiklal Street with its historic buildings and nostalgic tram. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 9 Istanbul: Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia - Istanbul 🍽 Breakfast · Lunch ▾
After breakfast the Old City tour begins at the Hippodrome, once the stage for chariot races, where the Column of Constantine, the Egyptian-style Obelisk of Theodosius and the bronze Serpentine Column still stand. You then visit the Blue Mosque, built between 1609 and 1616 and named after its blue İznik tiles, and Hagia Sophia, the 6th-century masterpiece of Byzantine architecture commissioned by Justinian and today a mosque. After lunch there is a shopping stop for spices, baklava, Turkish delight, coffee and souvenirs before your return to the hotel. Please bring a headscarf for the mosque visits. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 10 Departure - Istanbul 🍽 Breakfast ▾
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight home. The tour ends with memories of Türkiye's capitals old and new.

What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
