My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
This Ertugrul Ghazi tour from Istanbul takes you to Sogut in Bilecik province, the small Anatolian town where the Ottoman story began, on a fully guided day tour designed for history lovers and fans of the Dirilis Ertugrul series. Hotel pickup in the morning and drop-off in the evening are part of the service, so the long road east is simply time to relax.
Cruise passengers docking in Istanbul can book the Ertugrul Ghazi Tour as a convenient Istanbul shore excursion during their port call. With a private vehicle and guide, the day is timed to your ship’s arrival and departure, so you can enjoy the sights without worrying about the all-aboard deadline. Tell us how many hours your ship stays in port and we will confirm that the full programme fits comfortably. Just tell us the ship and the day it calls at Istanbul — we take care of the rest.
Sogut is where the Kayi tribe settled in the 13th century and where Osman, son of Ertugrul, laid the foundations of a state that would last more than six centuries. The mausoleum of Ertugrul Ghazi is thought to date from the late 1200s, and visiting it is a quiet, respectful moment at the heart of this daily excursion. The nearby museum occupies an early 20th-century building and displays objects from the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman eras, giving useful context to the region long before and after the Ottomans. Around town you will also see the Kaymakam Fountain, a graceful example of 19th-century architecture, and the Celebi Sultan Mehmet Mosque, built in 1420 and roofed with a cluster of domes.
The afternoon turns to nature. Inhisar Cave, which lends its name to the Inhisar district, was explored by Turkish geological surveyors in 2002, and Harmankaya Canyon Nature Park offers a fresh, green finale; the full canyon walk requires swimming and special equipment, so the visit concentrates on its entrance. As a daily tour from Istanbul this is a long but rewarding day: lunch and drinks are not included, so bring some cash, wear comfortable shoes and expect several hours of driving in an air-conditioned vehicle with your English-speaking guide.

Sogut & Ertugrul Ghazi Heritage Programme Your guide and driver collect you from your Istanbul hotel at around 08:00 and the drive east to Sogut begins, crossing the green countryside of the Marmara region into Bilecik province. The first and most meaningful stop is the mausoleum of Ertugrul Ghazi, father of Osman Ghazi, founder of the Ottoman dynasty; the tomb is believed to have been built towards the end of the 13th century. Next comes the Ertugrul Gazi Museum, set in an early 20th-century building, where objects from the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman periods are on display. A short walk takes you past the elegant 19th-century Kaymakam Fountain and on to the Celebi Sultan Mehmet Mosque, completed in 1420 with its distinctive domed roof. There is time to buy lunch at your own expense before the tour continues to Inhisar Cave, the natural cavern that gives the Inhisar district its name. The last stop is the entrance of Harmankaya Canyon Nature Park, a favourite spot for outdoor enthusiasts, where you can stretch your legs and enjoy the scenery. In the late afternoon you set off on the return journey and are dropped back at your hotel in Istanbul in the evening.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
