Our daily Green Tour from Cappadocia heads south of the famous fairy chimney valleys to a quieter side of the region, where rock-cut monasteries, a deep underground city and a former Greek village tell the story of the people who shaped this land. It is a fully guided day tour with hotel pick-up, lunch in the valley and all entrance fees covered, ideal for travellers who have already seen Goreme and want to go further.
Ortahisar is a village of old and new stone houses gathered around its rock castle, a natural outcrop that was hollowed out and used for centuries as a stronghold and refuge. Mustafapasa, known as Sinasos until the population exchange of the 1920s, still keeps its elegant stone facades and church remains, a reminder of the time when Greek and Turkish communities lived side by side. Keslik Monastery and the churches of Soganli Valley belong to the long Byzantine monastic tradition of Cappadocia, and their painted interiors make this daily excursion a rewarding Cappadocia day trip for anyone interested in early Christian art.
Derinkuyu descends many levels below ground through narrow passages linking chapels, shared rooms, storage areas and ventilation shafts, all created as a shelter where local people could hide during raids. The last stop, Pigeon Valley, shows how pigeons were once kept in carved dovecotes for their droppings, which fertilised the vineyards and orchards. This daily tour runs with a professional English-speaking guide in an air-conditioned, non-smoking vehicle and is suitable for guests aged 12 and over; comfortable walking shoes are recommended for the tunnels and village streets.

Cappadocia Green Tour Programme The day starts with pick-up from your hotel in Goreme, Urgup or Avanos. The first stop is Ortahisar, where stone houses cluster around Ortahisar Castle, a huge rock formation once used as a fortress and shelter; from here the views stretch across fairy chimneys and valleys. The drive continues to Mustafapasa, the old Greek village of Sinasos, for a walk through its narrow lanes past carved mansions and the remains of Orthodox churches, learning how Christian and Muslim neighbours once shared the village. Next comes Keslik Monastery, an early monastic complex cut into the rock, before the road leads on to the peaceful Soganli Valley with its cave churches, well-preserved frescoes and the handmade dolls sold by local women. Lunch featuring traditional Cappadocian dishes is served here in the valley. In the afternoon the tour visits Derinkuyu Underground City to explore its tunnels, chapels, communal rooms and ventilation shafts. The final stop is Pigeon Valley, where hundreds of dovecotes are carved into the soft cliffs, after which you are driven back to your hotel.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
