Our daily Bursa tour from Istanbul takes you across the Sea of Marmara to the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, a city locals still call Green Bursa for its parks, its mountain forests and its famous tiled monuments. This guided day tour is ideal if you have only a few days in Istanbul but want to see where the Ottoman story truly began.
This Bursa Tour also works as a shore excursion from the Istanbul cruise port — a popular choice for passengers who have one day ashore. As a private excursion it is fully flexible — pickup is right at the pier, the pace follows your group, and we make sure you are back on board well before departure. Tell us how many hours your ship stays in port and we will confirm that the full programme fits comfortably. Simply share your cruise itinerary and the date you are in Istanbul, and we will reserve your places.
Bursa became the Ottoman capital in 1326, and many of its finest buildings date from that founding century. The Ulu Cami, completed around 1400, is one of the most important early Ottoman mosques: its interior is a forest of pillars carrying twenty domes, with monumental calligraphy covering the walls and a fountain placed inside the prayer hall. Around it stretches the old market quarter, where covered bazaars and caravanserais once handled the silk trade between Persia and Europe; today they are a pleasant place to look for towels, knives, silk scarves and local sweets.
The Green Mosque (Yesil Camii), built for Sultan Mehmed I, is admired for the turquoise and green tiles that give it its name, while the nearby Green Mausoleum (Yesil Turbe), his tomb, glows with blue-green ceramics inside and out. Above the city rises Uludag, the mountain the ancient Greeks knew as Mount Olympos and linked in legend to the gods watching the Trojan War; on clear days the views over the Bursa plain are superb, and the famous Inkaya plane tree, said to be centuries old, stands on the slopes nearby. This daily excursion includes hotel pickup and return in Istanbul, an English-speaking guide and the entrance fees listed in the programme, so the whole day runs smoothly from start to finish.

Green Bursa & Uludag Programme Your guide collects you from your hotel in Istanbul in the morning and accompanies you to the ferry port for the crossing to Yalova, a relaxing sea journey with views across the Sea of Marmara. On landing in Yalova you continue by air-conditioned coach to Bursa, the city that served as the first great capital of the Ottomans. The visit opens in the Covered Bazaar, where you can wander among stalls selling traditional handicrafts, textiles and souvenirs. From the market it is a short walk to the Ulu Cami, the Grand Mosque, whose many domes, pillared hall and huge calligraphic panels make it one of the defining works of early Ottoman architecture. Next the tour heads up Uludag, the mountain once called Olympos, where your guide shares the legends that tie it to the Trojan War while you take in the panorama over the city and plain. A stop follows at a local restaurant for a traditional Turkish lunch. In the afternoon you visit the Green Mosque and the Green Mausoleum, celebrated for their luminous tile decoration and elegant design. After a full day of discovery, you travel back to Istanbul by coach and are dropped off at your hotel in the evening.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
