My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
Discover the deep south-east of Türkiye on this seven-day private tour, arranged in-house by Inca Tour, a TURSAB-licensed operator since 2007. From the basalt walls of Diyarbakır to the Roman gates of Tarsus, it links the region's great Mesopotamian cities — Mardin, Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep and the mountain gods of Nemrut — travelling with your own English-speaking guide and vehicle at a relaxed, flexible pace.
The journey begins in Diyarbakır, encircled by some of the longest city walls in the world, before crossing to Mardin, whose golden-stone houses tumble down a ridge above the Mesopotamian plain and whose 1,200-year-old Deyrulzafaran Monastery once seated the Syriac Orthodox patriarchs. You continue to Şanlıurfa, the city of the Prophet Abraham, to explore its covered bazaar, Abraham's cave and the carp-filled pools of Balıklıgöl, with the option of visiting Göbekli Tepe, the 12,000-year-old sanctuary that rewrote the history of civilisation.
From Urfa you climb Mount Nemrut for sunset among the giant carved heads of King Antiochus, then travel west to Gaziantep — famous for its baklava and mosaic museum — and on through Adana, with its great mosque and Roman Stone Bridge, to the ancient city of Tarsus, birthplace of St Paul, where the tour ends. Comfortable hotels, six breakfasts and five dinners, all guiding, transport and entrance fees are included. Prices are per person, shown for two sharing a double room, and fall as your group grows.
Your full program, day by day — click a day to see every stop.
After breakfast you tour old Diyarbakır before driving to Mardin, a city of honey-coloured stone houses and busy bazaars that played an important part in early Christianity. You visit the Deyrulzafaran Monastery, founded in 762 AD and built over a far older sun temple, then continue to Şanlıurfa. Dinner and overnight in Şanlıurfa.
A full day in Şanlıurfa, the city of the Prophet Abraham, visiting the sacred carp pools of Balıklıgöl, Abraham's cave and the atmospheric covered bazaar, with time for photographs and shopping; Göbekli Tepe can be added on request. Dinner and overnight in Şanlıurfa.
Drive north to Adıyaman and Kahta, then up to the summit of Mount Nemrut, where King Antiochus of Commagene raised his monumental tomb-sanctuary around 2,000 years ago. After exploring the statues and watching the sunset you descend to Kahta. Dinner and overnight in Kahta.
Travel to Gaziantep, home of Türkiye's finest baklava, to visit its celebrated mosaic museum and explore the old city on foot. Dinner and overnight in Gaziantep.
Drive to Adana for its archaeology museum, the historic Ulu Mosque and the 19th-century Clock Tower, then continue to Tarsus, passing Cleopatra's Gate and the Cave of the Seven Sleepers. Dinner and overnight in Tarsus.
After breakfast your tour ends in Tarsus. We wish you a safe journey home.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
