My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
From Adana
Spend a full day uncovering the fortresses, harbours and lost cities of the Cilician plain on this private daily Adana historical castles tour. Collected from your hotel in the morning, you travel out to the Mediterranean coast around Yumurtalik to walk among sea castles, watchtowers and Roman ruins that once guarded one of antiquity's busiest trade routes. It is an easy, comfortable day trip from Adana with a professional English-speaking guide, arranged by Inca Tour, a TURSAB-licensed operator serving travellers in Turkey since 2007.
Your day begins at Aigeai, the ancient city near Yumurtalik, where visible ruins include the Asklepion health sanctuary, city walls, bath houses, a columned street, rock-cut tombs and sarcophagi. From the shore you take in Ayas Harbour Castle and the Deniz (Sea) Castle standing just offshore, then continue to the Suleyman Tower, raised in 1536 to watch the approaches to the coast, before finishing at Girls' Castle, thought to have guarded the medieval customs post. Along the way your guide explains how Cilicia's position between Anatolia, Syria and the sea made these shores worth fortifying for more than two thousand years.
This is a relaxed, in-depth day for lovers of history and photography who want to see Adana beyond the city centre. Travel is in a fully air-conditioned, non-smoking vehicle with hotel pick-up and drop-off and all listed entrance fees included, leaving you free to enjoy the castles, the sea air and the stories behind them.

Adana Historical Castles Tour Programme You are collected from your hotel in Adana at around 08:30 and drive out towards the Mediterranean coast near Yumurtalik. Your first stop is the ancient city of Aigeai, once an important naval base and site of one of the three largest Asklepion healing temples of the ancient world. Walking the site you see the city walls, the bath complex, a columned street, rock tombs and sarcophagi, while your guide sets out the long history of Cilicia and its coastline. From here you continue along the shore to Ayas Castle, the mainland fortress of a once-flourishing medieval trading port, with views across to the Deniz (Sea) Castle on its island. The tour then reaches the Suleyman Tower, built in 1536 during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent to warn of attacks from the sea, and finally Girls' Castle, thought to have served as a customs and bureaucratic control centre. After the last castle you are transferred back to your hotel in Adana, arriving in the late afternoon.

It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
