This full-day Gallipoli trip from Istanbul visits the WWI battlefields where ANZAC and Ottoman soldiers fought the 1915 campaign. An expert English-speaking guide leads you between landing beaches, cemeteries and memorials, explaining how the Allied attempt to force a route to Constantinople turned into eight months of trench warfare. The losses were immense: more than 60,000 Allied soldiers died, among them 10,880 Australians and New Zealanders, while around 85,000 Ottoman troops were killed defending the peninsula.
This Gallipoli Tour also works as a shore excursion from the Istanbul cruise port — a popular choice for passengers who have one day ashore. Shared departures follow a fixed timetable, so please send us your ship’s arrival and departure times when booking — we confirm pier pickup or suggest the private option for tight port calls. Tell us how many hours your ship stays in port and we will confirm that the full programme fits comfortably. Simply share your cruise itinerary and the date you are in Istanbul, and we will reserve your places.
The visit starts at Brighton Beach, the historic landing area, followed by Beach Cemetery and the famous ANZAC Cove with neighbouring Ariburnu Cemetery. At the ANZAC Commemorative Site you learn about the men who came ashore here, and the Respect to Mehmetcik Statue honours the compassion and sacrifice of the Turkish soldier. Higher up the ridges you reach the Lone Pine Australian Memorial, walk among the preserved Turkish and Allied trenches and tunnels at Johnston's Jolly, stand at the 57th Regiment Turkish Memorial and finish at The Nek and the Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial, with sweeping views over the battlefield.
As a day tour from Istanbul, the programme includes hotel pick-up, comfortable air-conditioned transport for the long drive to the Dardanelles, lunch and all entrance fees, with drop-off back at your hotel in the evening. It is a moving and educational daily excursion from Istanbul for Australian and New Zealand visitors, WWI history enthusiasts and anyone who wants to understand Gallipoli from both sides; it is recommended for ages 12 and over.

Gallipoli Programme Your day begins with an early pick-up from your hotel in Istanbul and a scenic drive west across Thrace towards the Gallipoli Peninsula, a journey of several hours in an air-conditioned coach. On arrival your expert guide introduces the 1915 campaign, in which Allied forces – above all the ANZAC troops from Australia and New Zealand – tried to seize the straits and open the way to Constantinople, and the Ottoman army held them back at enormous cost. The first stop is Brighton Beach, the historic landing site, followed by Beach Cemetery, where many who fell in the early fighting are buried. You then walk along ANZAC Cove and visit Ariburnu Cemetery before continuing to the ANZAC Commemorative Site, scene of today's memorial services. The Respect to Mehmetcik Statue pays tribute to the humanity and sacrifice of the Turkish soldier. Lunch is served during the day. In the afternoon you climb to the Lone Pine Australian Memorial, explore the trenches and tunnels of Johnston's Jolly where the lines were only metres apart, visit the 57th Regiment Turkish Memorial and end at The Nek and the Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial, high above the peninsula. Late in the day the coach returns to Istanbul and drops you off at your hotel.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
