Its largest tank holds some five million litres of water and is crossed by an 80-metre acrylic underwater tunnel, where sharks, giant stingrays and shoals of fish swim right over your head. Look out for piranhas and octopuses in the themed sections, and do not miss the colossal observation deck with its 270-degree view into the main aquarium. With your entrance package in hand, you explore the aquarium at your own pace, as the visit is self-guided. Turkuazoo, the first modern giant aquarium in Turkey, brings together marine life collected from across the globe in 29 aquariums themed on the Mediterranean, the Aegean and the oceans. The highlight is the largest tank, filled with about five million litres of water, through which runs an 80-metre acrylic underwater tunnel; walking through it, you see sharks, giant stingrays and countless fish gliding overhead. Elsewhere you meet piranhas, octopuses and many other inhabitants of the deep, and the vast observation deck offers a 270-degree panorama into the main tank.
