Turkuazoo presents 29 themed aquariums with species from the Mediterranean, the Aegean and the world's oceans. Its largest tank holds some five million litres of water and is crossed by an 80-metre acrylic underwater tunnel, where sharks, giant stingrays and shoals of fish swim right over your head. Look out for piranhas and octopuses in the themed sections, and do not miss the colossal observation deck with its 270-degree view into the main aquarium. After the visit you can browse the souvenir shop and step into the Tutankhamun exhibition, which is part of your ticket.
The rest of your time is spent at Aqua Florya, a modern shopping and entertainment centre on the Marmara shore with shops, cafes and restaurants under one roof. This self-guided half-day tour in Istanbul includes air-conditioned transport from and back to your hotel plus the aquarium entrance, while lunch is at your own choice. Aquarium Programme You are collected from your hotel in Istanbul and driven in an air-conditioned vehicle to Florya on the Sea of Marmara, home to the Aqua Florya Shopping Mall and the Turkuazoo aquarium. With your entrance package in hand, you explore the aquarium at your own pace, as the visit is self-guided. Turkuazoo, the first modern giant aquarium in Turkey, brings together marine life collected from across the globe in 29 aquariums themed on the Mediterranean, the Aegean and the oceans. The highlight is the largest tank, filled with about five million litres of water, through which runs an 80-metre acrylic underwater tunnel; walking through it, you see sharks, giant stingrays and countless fish gliding overhead. Elsewhere you meet piranhas, octopuses and many other inhabitants of the deep, and the vast observation deck offers a 270-degree panorama into the main tank. Your package also includes the Tutankhamun exhibition, and you can pick up a memento at the aquarium's souvenir shop. Afterwards you have free time in Aqua Florya to shop, have lunch at your own expense or relax in a cafe overlooking the sea, before the vehicle takes you back to your hotel at the end of the roughly five-hour excursion.
