My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
This daily Ephesus tour from Kusadasi brings you to one of the best-preserved ancient cities of the Mediterranean, only 20 to 30 minutes from the resort. With hotel pick-up and drop-off and a professional English-speaking guide, the day tour explains the Greek and Roman history of Ephesus and its place in early Christianity.
This Ephesus Tour also works as a shore excursion from the Kuşadası cruise port — a popular choice for passengers who have one day ashore. Shared departures follow a fixed timetable, so please send us your ship’s arrival and departure times when booking — we confirm pier pickup or suggest the private option for tight port calls. Tell us how many hours your ship stays in port and we will confirm that the full programme fits comfortably. Simply share your cruise itinerary and the date you are in Kuşadası, and we will reserve your places.
Guests staying on Samos or Patmos can enjoy the Ephesus Tour as a day trip from the Greek islands to Turkey — from Samos the ferry takes 45 minutes; from Patmos the ferry takes about 3 hours, so the excursion can be planned between the morning and evening sailings. Pickup is at the Kuşadası ferry terminal, and the tour is timed so you can catch the return ferry comfortably. For longer itineraries we check the ferry timetable first and confirm that the full programme fits your day. Please bring your passport and check the Turkish entry requirements for your nationality before travelling.
Ephesus was one of the great cities of the Roman East. The Library of Celsus, raised in honour of the senator Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus, was the third-largest library of antiquity. The Great Theatre hosted plays, gladiator contests and public assemblies, and its acoustics still impress today. Marble Street, lined with columns and shop fronts, connected the city's monuments, while the Temple of Hadrian shows finely carved reliefs from Roman mythology. The Agora was the commercial heart of the city, and the baths reveal how Romans relaxed and socialised.
The Ephesus day trip also includes the Temple of Artemis, listed among the ancient world's seven wonders, where a single rebuilt column now marks the spot, and the House of the Virgin Mary, a chapel venerated by Christians and Muslims alike. Please note that entrance tickets and meals are not part of this daily excursion. Wear comfortable shoes and a hat, as most of the visit is on foot over uneven stone.

Ephesus Ancient City Programme Your guide and driver collect you from your hotel in Kusadasi and, after a short drive of around half an hour, you arrive at the ancient city of Ephesus. The walk follows the main street of the city past a long series of monuments: the Odeon, a small roofed theatre, and the Bouleuterion where the city council gathered, then Marble Street, the richly decorated Temple of Hadrian, Trajan's Fountain and the Mosaic Street. You continue through the Agora and the remains of the Roman baths before reaching the facade of the Library of Celsus, the most photographed building of Ephesus and once the third-largest library of the ancient world. Next you stand in the Great Theatre, carved into the hillside, and look down Harbour Street, which once led to the sea. Throughout the visit the guide brings the ruins to life with stories about daily life, trade and faith in Roman Ephesus. The day also takes in the site of the Temple of Artemis, once ranked among the seven wonders of antiquity, and the House of the Virgin Mary on the wooded slopes nearby. Entrance tickets and lunch are paid locally. At the end of the tour you are driven back to your hotel in Kusadasi.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
