My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
This daily Pancarlik and Ortahisar valley hiking tour is a relaxed guided day tour for travellers who want to see the gentler, less-visited side of central Anatolia. Departing from Cappadocia with hotel pick-up and drop-off, this daily excursion combines an easy countryside walk, early Christian cave chapels, the rock fortress of Ortahisar and a local lunch.
Pancarlik Valley lies close to Ortahisar and Urgup, yet it sees far fewer visitors than the famous valleys around Goreme. Its soft volcanic slopes are covered with vineyards, fruit gardens and patches of colourful vegetation, and tucked into the rock are modest chapels cut by early Christian communities who lived and worshipped in these valleys. Walking here gives a sense of the silence and agricultural rhythm that still define rural Cappadocia.
Ortahisar Castle is a huge natural rock outcrop, around 18 metres tall, hollowed out over centuries into rooms, passages and storage chambers. Thanks to its height it was used as a fortress and watchtower, and the cave houses around its base show how villagers adapted the landscape to their needs. Throughout this Cappadocia day trip your guide explains the geology, history and everyday life of the area. The walking is easy and suitable for most fitness levels; comfortable shoes, a hat and a camera are recommended.

Pancarlik Valley & Ortahisar Programme Our team collects you from your hotel in Cappadocia and drives you in an air-conditioned, non-smoking vehicle to the edge of Pancarlik Valley, a quiet corner of the region that most visitors never reach. With your English-speaking guide you set off on an unhurried walk between fruit gardens, vineyards and fairy chimneys, stopping at the small rock-cut chapels carved by early Christian communities. Along the way the guide talks about how the volcanic landscape was formed and how families have farmed these slopes for generations. The route then continues towards Ortahisar, where the great rock castle rises above the village. This natural outcrop was carved into a fortress and lookout tower over many centuries, and around it you can see old cave dwellings, unusual rock formations and scenes of daily village life. After plenty of time for photographs, the group stops for a local lunch. At the end of the tour you are driven back to your hotel.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
