My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
This daily Cappadocia art and shopping tour is a relaxed day tour built around the handicrafts and regional produce that Central Anatolia is known for. Instead of rushing past souvenir stalls, you watch artisans at work in Urgup, Avanos and Uchisar, learn how each product is made and shop where it is actually produced, with a guide on hand to explain quality, origin and tradition. Lunch is part of the day.
Avanos has worked clay for thousands of years, and its potters still shape jugs and bowls on foot-powered wheels; a demonstration shows how a lump of river clay becomes a finished piece. Urgup is the traditional centre of carpet trade in the region, where natural dyes and double knots give rugs their durability. In Uchisar, below the tallest rock castle of Cappadocia, craftsmen polish semi-precious stones, while the Ebru workshop reveals how pigments floating on thickened water are transferred onto paper to create unique marbled patterns.
Food is part of the story too. If a district market is held on the day of your visit, the route includes it, and you stop at one or two places selling the local specialities of the season. Have something particular in mind? Tell your guide and they will help you find it. This daily excursion suits travellers who enjoy culture at a gentle pace and want an authentic Cappadocia day trip from Cappadocia hotels with meaningful souvenirs to take home.

Cappadocia Art & Shopping Programme The day begins in Cappadocia, where you meet your English-speaking guide for a relaxed, fully guided programme dedicated to the crafts and flavours of the region. In Urgup you visit a handmade carpet and rug store, learning how wool and silk are dyed, knotted and finished, and how to tell a hand-woven piece from a machine-made one. The route then leads to Avanos, the pottery town on the Kizilirmak river, where a ceramic workshop demonstrates throwing clay on the wheel and painting traditional designs. In Uchisar you stop at a precious stones workshop to see how local stones are shaped into jewellery. Along the way there is time at an Ebru marbling workshop, a shop of cookies, dried fruit and herbs, a leather clothing store and small souvenir vendors. Lunch is served during the day. Depending on the date, you may also browse a local district market, and you visit one or two points selling regional products such as grape molasses, tandoori bread, hot sauce, pumpkin seeds, tomato paste and seasonal fruit or vegetables. If you are looking for something specific, your guide is happy to help before the tour ends back in Cappadocia.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
