This 2-day tour from Denizli or Pamukkale takes you to Antalya on the Turkish Riviera for a guided walk through the old town of Kaleici, a visit to the Duden Waterfalls and a night by the Mediterranean. It is an easy way to add the coast to an inland itinerary: you are collected from your hotel in Pamukkale or Denizli in the morning and, after a drive of about three and a half hours over the Taurus foothills, arrive in the city often called the tourism capital of Turkey.
After free time for lunch, your guide leads you into Kaleici, Antalya's historic old quarter of narrow lanes, Ottoman houses and Roman walls. You stroll down to the picturesque old marina, pass the Clock Tower and walk through Hadrian's Gate, the triple-arched Roman gateway built in honour of the emperor and now a symbol of the city. The route continues to the Broken Minaret, a landmark with layers of Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman history, and to the Hidirlik Tower, a sturdy round tower of tawny stone overlooking the sea. At Karaalioglu Park you enjoy one of the best viewpoints over the Gulf of Antalya and the cliffs of the coastline.
The tour also visits the Duden Waterfalls, one of more than twenty waterfalls formed around Antalya as snowmelt from the Taurus Mountains rushes towards the Mediterranean. In the evening you check into your hotel, with dinner included. The second day is free until 17:00 for the beach, shopping, the old town's cafes or local markets, before you are collected from a central meeting point and driven back to your hotel in Denizli. Between 07:00 and 08:00 you are picked up from your hotel in Pamukkale or Denizli and set off south towards the Mediterranean. After a drive of roughly three and a half hours you arrive in Antalya, where there is free time for lunch at your own expense. The guided city tour then begins in the old town of Kaleici. Walking through its winding lanes, you visit the old marina, the Clock Tower and Hadrian's Gate, one of the great symbols of Antalya, followed by the Broken Minaret and the Hidirlik Tower, a landmark built of tawny stone at the edge of the cliffs. Your guide also takes you to scenic spots such as Karaalioglu Park, where you can take perfect photographs of the Mediterranean and the Bay of Antalya. Because snowmelt from the Taurus Mountains feeds countless streams flowing to the sea, more than twenty waterfalls have formed around the city, and you visit the Duden Waterfalls, one of the most beautiful of them. After breakfast at your hotel, check-out is due by 12:00 at the latest. The rest of the day is yours to spend as you like until 17:00, or earlier if you prefer to set off sooner. You might relax on one of Antalya's long sandy beaches, explore the shops and cafes of Kaleici again, browse the local markets or enjoy a seafood lunch with a view of the bay. At 17:00 we pick you up from a central meeting point in Antalya and drive back to Denizli, dropping you at your hotel in the evening.
