Behind the resort of Icmeler the landscape changes quickly into pine-covered hills, old mountain villages and winding tracks with wide views over the bays. Degirmenyani is a small, traditional village where life still follows a slower rhythm, and it makes a pleasant first break on the route. From there the jeeps continue to Bordubet, a sheltered cove framed by forest that feels far removed from the busy town beaches; its clear, calm water is perfect for an evening swim.

As the light fades, the group gathers at the Balikasiran spot to watch the sun sink behind the headlands, one of the most photographed moments of this daily excursion. The evening then moves to a seaside campsite, where a fire is already burning and the barbecue is ready.
