This Ephesus day trip from Didim visits the ancient city of Ephesus, the Temple of Artemis and Sirince village, with lunch included. The guided full-day excursion takes you to the best-preserved classical city of the Aegean, the remains of the Temple of Artemis and the pretty hill village of Sirince, with hotel transfers and lunch included. Ephesus reflects the Hellenistic, Roman Imperial and early Christian eras, was home to one of the Seven Churches of Revelation and hosted the Apostle Paul for around two and a half years during his third missionary journey.
With an English-speaking guide you spend about two hours on foot along the marble-paved streets, passing the Odeon, the State Agora, the Prytaneion, the Memmius Monument, the Temple of Domitian, the Gate of Hercules and Curetes Street with the Temple of Hadrian and the public latrines. The walk continues to the celebrated Library of Celsus, the Marble Road, the Commercial Agora, the Great Theatre and the Arcadian Way, the colonnaded avenue that once led down to the harbour.
After lunch you watch Turkish carpet weaving at a traditional workshop, then stop at the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The afternoon belongs to Sirince, a former Greek village 7 km from Ephesus in the hills above Selcuk, known for its old stone houses and fruit wines, which you can taste during free time. A visit to a regional leather production centre completes this daily excursion from Didim before the drive back to your hotel.

Ephesus & Sirince Programme You are collected from your hotel in Didim and driven north to the ancient city of Ephesus. Your English-speaking guide introduces the site's long story, from its Hellenistic foundations through its peak as a Roman provincial capital to its role in early Christianity as one of the Seven Churches of Revelation and a base of the Apostle Paul. Over roughly two hours you walk the marble streets, visiting the Odeon, the State Agora, the Prytaneion, the Memmius Monument, the Temple of Domitian and the Gate of Hercules, before descending Curetes Street past the Temple of Hadrian and the Roman latrines. The route then opens onto the Library of Celsus, the Marble Road and the Commercial Agora, ending at the Great Theatre and the Arcadian Way, the old harbour avenue. After the visit there is a break for the included lunch. In the afternoon you stop at a carpet weaving centre to see one of Anatolia's oldest crafts in action, then continue to the site of the Temple of Artemis, where your guide explains the history of this wonder of the ancient world. The drive continues up to Sirince, a village of whitewashed houses once inhabited by Greeks and resettled by Turks after the population exchange of the 1920s, where free time allows you to stroll and taste the local fruit wines. On the way back you visit a leather production centre known for quality garments at factory prices, then return to your hotel in Didim.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
