My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
The Iasos and Euromos tour from Didim is a guided day tour to two quiet archaeological sites that most visitors to the Aegean coast never see. With hotel transfers, lunch and an English-speaking guide included, this daily excursion is an easy way to explore ancient Caria without crowds.
Iasos was one of the busiest fish markets of the ancient world, and its ruins still reveal a lively harbour town. Walking through the Agora, past the sanctuaries of Artemis and Zeus Megistos and on to the theatre, you will notice how freely the local purple-veined marble was used in buildings and paving. A highlight is the old Fish Market, which in the Mentese era, the Turkish principality that ruled this region in the late Middle Ages, was turned into a bathhouse, a neat example of how the site was reused over the centuries.
The second stop, Euromos, lies near the village of Ayakli and is surprisingly little known. Its Temple of Zeus Lepsynos was rebuilt in the 2nd century AD under the Roman Empire after an earlier sanctuary was destroyed, and many of its columns still stand. Here your guide explains the votive inscriptions on the columns, including those linked to Menekrates and his daughter Tryphania. This daily tour suits travellers who enjoy history at a relaxed pace; wear comfortable shoes and a hat, as both sites are open-air. Return to your hotel in Didim is in the evening.

Iasos & Euromos Ancient Cities Programme The day begins with pickup from your hotel in Didim and a scenic drive in an air-conditioned vehicle to Iasos, an ancient city established by settlers from Argos. With your guide you walk through the Agora and see what survives of the sanctuaries of Artemis and Zeus Megistos before reaching the theatre, learning how this small harbour town grew wealthy as one of the leading fish markets of antiquity. Along the way you will spot the distinctive purple-veined marble that was quarried locally and used generously across the city. One of the most interesting buildings is the former Fish Market, which was adapted into a bathhouse during the Mentese period. Lunch is included during the day. Afterwards the tour continues to Euromos, a lesser-known ancient city close to Ayakli village, where the Temple of Zeus Lepsynos stands as one of the best-preserved temples in Anatolia. After an earlier sanctuary on the spot was ruined, the Romans raised the present temple in the 2nd century AD, and your guide points out the columns and votive inscriptions associated with Menekrates and his daughter Tryphania. In the evening you travel back to Didim and are dropped off at your hotel.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
