Welcome to the Turquoise Coast. Our driver meets you at Dalaman Airport or at Fethiye bus station and takes you to your hotel in Fethiye. After checking in and collecting your room key, the rest of the day is free. Walk down to Fethiye Marina for an evening promenade along the harbour, where yachts and gulets line the quay, and look up at the Amyntas Rock Tombs, the temple-fronted Lycian tombs carved into the cliff face above the town and lit up beautifully at dusk. Fethiye also has lively bars and restaurants if you feel like celebrating the start of your holiday. Dinner is served at the hotel and you spend the night in Fethiye.

After breakfast you make your way to Fethiye harbour, where the boat departs at 10:30 for a relaxing day exploring four to six of the most beautiful bays and islands of the Gulf of Fethiye. A typical stop is Flat Island, whose shallow, calm water makes it ideal for children and less confident swimmers. The boat also anchors at Cleopatra's Bath, where you can swim around the boat or explore the remains of the old bath house near the shore, and at Tersane, the Dockyard Island, where you see the ruins of an important ancient shipyard that was largely destroyed by an earthquake in 1957. The route may also include the Yassica Islands, known for their crystal-clear water. The day is all about sunbathing on deck, swimming in clean, warm water and enjoying the lunch served on board. In the late afternoon the boat returns to the harbour. Dinner and overnight in Fethiye.

The jeeps leave Fethiye at 9:00 for a full day of off-road fun with a driver. The first stop is Tlos, an ancient Lycian city perched on a steep hill, where an Ottoman castle crowns the summit above a cliff full of Lycian rock tombs and a Roman theatre. Next you visit the Yakapark trout farm, set among shady trees and running water, and then Saklikent, one of the longest canyons in Turkey. Here you wade into the gorge through cold, jade-coloured spring water, slowly making your way up towards a small waterfall; water shoes are very useful. After lunch the safari heads to Xanthos, once the capital of the Lycian League, and then down to Patara, the longest sandy beach in Turkey, where you can dive into the turquoise sea. You are back in Fethiye at around 6:00 pm. Transfers, the jeep with driver, lunch and entrance fees are included. Dinner and overnight in Fethiye.

After breakfast you enjoy one of the most memorable experiences of any trip to Turkey: a visit to a traditional Turkish bath. The hamam in Fethiye old town dates back to the 16th century and the reign of Sultan Selim I. You first spend about twenty minutes relaxing in the warm main chamber to open the pores, then the attendant gives you a vigorous full-body scrub. After a rinse comes the soap and foam massage, which loosens every tight muscle and leaves you feeling completely refreshed. A final shower and a glass of hot Turkish tea complete the ritual. The remainder of the day is free to wander the old town bazaar, relax at the hotel pool or return to the waterfront. Dinner and overnight in Fethiye.

Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before checking out. Depending on your travel plans, you may have a little more time to stroll through Fethiye or buy last-minute souvenirs. Our driver then transfers you to Dalaman Airport or Fethiye bus station for your onward journey, bringing your five days on the Turquoise Coast to a close. Before you go, take one last look across the bay towards the islands you sailed past and the mountains behind Saklikent. The transfer to Dalaman Airport takes roughly an hour, so allow enough time for check-in; if you are continuing by bus, the drop-off at Fethiye bus station is only a few minutes from the hotel.
