Our daily rafting tour from Alanya swaps the beach for the cool, rushing water of the Koprucay River, one of the most celebrated white-water routes in Turkey. This guided daily excursion collects you from your hotel in Alanya and takes you inland to Koprulu Canyon National Park, where you paddle a 14 km stretch of river between steep, pine-covered walls and finish the day with lunch before the drive back.
Koprulu Canyon National Park protects a deep gorge carved by the Koprucay, the river known in antiquity as the Eurymedon. Its name means the canyon with the bridge, a reference to the single-arched Roman bridge that still crosses the water and once carried the road to the ancient mountain city of Selge. Fed by springs from the Taurus Mountains, the river stays refreshingly cold even in midsummer, at roughly 12 degrees Celsius depending on the season. Along the rafting section it is about 12 metres wide and between one and three metres deep.
The run is graded Class 3, which means lively rapids with plenty of splash, yet a route that beginners can enjoy safely with an experienced team on board. This makes the Koprulu Canyon day trip a great choice for families, groups of friends and first-time rafters who want an active break from the coast. Your English-speaking guides look after the logistics and pause along the way so you can take photos of the canyon.
Practical notes: bring swimwear, a towel, a change of clothes and shoes that can get wet. Hotel pickup and drop-off in Alanya, an air-conditioned vehicle and the entrance fees in the programme are covered, so this daily Alanya tour is simple to slot into a beach holiday.

Koprulu Canyon Rafting Programme Your day starts with a pickup from your hotel in Alanya in a comfortable, air-conditioned non-smoking vehicle, accompanied by an English-speaking guide. The road leads inland towards the foothills of the Taurus Mountains and into Koprulu Canyon National Park, a protected gorge shaped over millennia by the Koprucay River. On arrival you will be introduced to the river and get ready for the descent. The rafting section covers around 14 km and is graded Class 3, a medium level that offers exciting rapids while remaining suitable for beginners. Expect chilly water of roughly 12 degrees Celsius, varying with the season, while the river runs some 12 metres wide and one to three metres deep, carrying you between rocky walls and stretches of pine forest. Along the way you will pass the area of the historic Roman bridge that gives the canyon its name, and the team makes short stops so you can catch your breath and take photographs of the dramatic scenery. Lunch is part of the day. Once the activity is complete, you are driven back to Alanya and dropped off at your hotel in the late afternoon.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
