From Trabzon
Escape into the misty green mountains of the eastern Black Sea on this Ayder Plateau and Fırtına Valley day tour from Trabzon, a full-day journey through Rize province to one of Türkiye's most beautiful highland regions. Winding past tumbling waterfalls, terraced tea gardens and rushing rivers, the tour reaches the alpine meadows of the Ayder Plateau deep in the Kaçkar Mountains, with time for adventure activities, photography and a taste of Black Sea highland culture.
After pick-up in Trabzon you travel east along the Black Sea coast into Rize province, pausing at the impressive Eskitoğlu Waterfall and passing through Rize city, the capital of Türkiye's tea country. The route then turns inland and climbs into the spectacular Fırtına Valley, following the Fırtına Stream through the foothills of the Kaçkar Mountains National Park. Here the adventurous can add optional rafting, a zip-line ride or the famous highland swing over the river. Climbing higher, you reach the Ayder Plateau at around 1,350 metres, with free time to wander the alpine meadows, breathe the cool mountain air, sample local specialities and relax in the natural thermal setting. On the way back there is a photo stop at the historic Kale-i Hala stone bridge before the scenic return to Trabzon. Meals and optional activities are at own expense.

Ayder Plateau & Fırtına Valley Day Tour Programme Your day begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel in Trabzon and a scenic drive east along the Black Sea coast into Rize province. An early highlight is the Eskitoğlu Waterfall, an impressive two-stage cascade that drops some 80 metres beside the road, before you reach Rize city, the heart of Türkiye's tea-growing country, where emerald tea gardens blanket the hillsides. From the coast the route turns inland and climbs into the magnificent Fırtına Valley, following the Fırtına Stream up through the foothills of the Kaçkar Mountains National Park. The valley's activity areas offer optional adventures — white-water rafting, zip-lining and a thrilling swing out over the river — for those who wish to add them. Continuing upward, you arrive at the Ayder Plateau at roughly 1,350 metres, set among spruce forests and alpine meadows dotted with traditional wooden houses. There is free time for lunch, a stroll through the highland pastures and a chance to enjoy the famous thermal springs. In the afternoon you pause at the historic Kale-i Hala stone bridge, an elegant 18th-century arch spanning the river, before the relaxing return drive to Trabzon in the evening.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
