This 3-day Pamukkale tour combines the famous white travertine terraces, the Roman spa city of Hierapolis and the biblical city of Laodicea with airport transfers and two nights in a thermal hotel, making it an easy short break in southwest Turkey. You are met at Denizli Cardak Airport and driven to your hotel in Pamukkale, where the rest of the first day is free to relax in the thermal facilities or wander through the small town at the foot of the terraces.
The second day is a full guided tour. It begins on the calcium terraces of Pamukkale, the Cotton Castle, where you walk barefoot across glistening white travertine pools shaped over millennia by mineral-rich thermal water. Above them lies Hierapolis, a UNESCO-listed ancient city where you explore the ruins and see the Antique Pool, also called Cleopatra's Pool, a warm spring with sunken columns that has been prized for its healing reputation since antiquity – a perfect spot for postcard photographs. After a lunch break you continue to Laodicea, one of the Seven Churches of Revelation, where excavations have uncovered a theatre, an agora, a recently unearthed temple and one of the oldest churches in the region, testimony to the city's early Christian community.
On the final morning you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast and free time before your transfer back to Denizli Cardak Airport. For a once-in-a-lifetime view, an optional sunrise hot air balloon flight over Pamukkale can be arranged on request. After breakfast you are picked up from your hotel for a full day of guided sightseeing. The first stop is the world-famous calcium terraces of Pamukkale, the Cotton Castle, where you take off your shoes and walk barefoot across the white travertine pools formed by thermal waters rich in minerals. You then explore the ancient city of Hierapolis on the plateau above, including the Antique Pool, known as Cleopatra's Pool, a thermal spring with submerged columns renowned for its healing qualities since ancient times. You can feel the warm water and take memorable photographs. Following a break for lunch, the drive continues a few kilometres south to Laodicea, a city named among the Seven Churches in the Book of Revelation. Walk among its impressive ruins, including the theatre, the agora, a recently excavated temple and one of the oldest churches in the region, which reflect the city's important Christian heritage. At the scheduled time you check out and are transferred back to Denizli Cardak Airport for your onward flight, taking home memories of the Cotton Castle, Hierapolis and Laodicea.
