My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
This 4-day Eastern Black Sea tour from Trabzon combines lakes, highland pastures, waterfalls and a cliff-hanging monastery while you sleep every night in the same central hotel. Instead of packing and unpacking, you set out on three full-day excursions from Trabzon and return each evening to the lively Meydan square, where restaurants, cafes and shops are only a short walk away. Arrival-day airport or bus terminal transfers are part of the package, so the trip starts the moment you land.
The first excursion follows the coast and the Solaklı Valley to Uzungöl, stopping at a tea factory to learn how Black Sea tea is processed and brewed, and at a Sürmene knife outlet known for its hand-forged blades. In Uzungöl you take in the lake from the Observation Terrace, see the artificial waterfalls built to protect the shoreline from floods and enjoy free time around the village and the Haldizen Valley above it. The next day is dedicated to Rize: the road climbs through the Fırtına (Storm) Valley, one of the world's protected ecological regions where rafting, zipline and swing activities are on offer, continues via Çamlıhemşin and reaches the Ayder Plateau at about 1,400 metres beneath the Kaçkar Mountains, home of the thundering Gelintülü Waterfall.
The final day is the most historic. A short ride brings you to Altındere National Park, from where a park shuttle and a 300-metre forest path lead to the Sumela Monastery, with its rock church, chapels, library, guesthouse and holy spring clinging to a sheer cliff. The route then crosses the Zigana Pass, a Silk Road gateway now pierced by the New Zigana Tunnel, the longest road tunnel in Europe, to reach Karaca Cave and its gallery of stalactites, stalagmites and travertines. After stops for Black Sea fruit pulp and kome, the Torul Glass Terrace and the famous rice pudding of Hamsiköy along the old Zigana road, you return to Trabzon. This small, guided Turkey tour package is available as a group or private tour and suits travellers who want nature and culture without long drives between hotels.

After breakfast we drive east along the coast towards Uzungöl. The first stop is a tea factory, where you learn how the region's famous black tea is harvested, processed and best brewed, followed by time at the factory outlet. A little further on we pause at a Sürmene knife outlet, a town renowned for its hand-made blades. The road then turns inland through the Solaklı Valley, passing traditional wooden village houses, tea plantations and hazelnut gardens before reaching Uzungöl. We begin with the Observation Terrace for the classic view of the lake and mosque, then visit the artificial waterfalls created to protect the lake from flooding. Free time follows for walks around the shore, a look up towards the Haldizen Valley, optional activities and a meal in one of the lakeside restaurants or cafes. We leave Uzungöl at around 16:00 and return to your hotel in Trabzon, where the evening is free. Overnight in Trabzon.
Following breakfast we travel along the coast into Rize province and turn inland at the Fırtına (Storm) Valley, recognised as one of the 200 ecological regions in the world most in need of protection. We take a break by the river, where you may join optional activities such as rafting, zipline or a giant swing. The route then follows the valley through Çamlıhemşin and climbs to the Ayder Plateau, a green highland at the foot of the Kaçkar Mountains, about 1,400 metres above sea level. Here we visit the Gelintülü Waterfall, one of the natural landmarks of the Black Sea, and you have free time to stroll along the plateau, breathe the mountain air and enjoy a tea or coffee facing the falls. We meet at the vehicle at around 16:00 and drive back to Trabzon with a comfort stop on the way. Free evening and overnight in Trabzon.
After breakfast and check-out, a one-hour drive brings us to Altındere National Park. A park minibus and then a 300-metre forest path take us to the Sumela Monastery, passing historic aqueducts, stone stairs and a small visitor area where we pause to enjoy the scenery. We then explore the monastery, built into a sheer cliff like a medieval castle, with its main rock church, chapels, student cells, library, guesthouse and holy spring. Back on the road we head for the Zigana Pass, a historic Silk Road crossing between Eastern Anatolia and the West, and stop for lunch at a local restaurant (own expense). Through the 14.5 km New Zigana Tunnel, the longest road tunnel in Europe, we reach Karaca Cave, a natural gallery of stalactites, stalagmites and travertines. Next come a factory outlet selling Black Sea fruit pulp and kome, the Torul Glass Terrace and the scenic old Zigana road to Hamsiköy, where we taste its celebrated rice pudding. The tour ends in Trabzon city centre or at the airport between 18:00 and 19:00; airport transfers run between 19:00 and 23:00, so return flights from 20:30 onwards are recommended.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
