You can choose between a morning ride and an afternoon ride. The morning route follows the forest path from Hisaronu to Kayakoy, once the Greek-speaking town of Levissi. Its residents left during the population exchange of 1923, and hundreds of roofless stone houses still climb the slope today, giving the village its nickname, the Ghost Town. If you wish, you can step inside the old church, where traces of Christian wall paintings have survived.
The afternoon route also leaves from Hisaronu but heads towards the coast. After about an hour of riding you reach a hill with a wide view over Oludeniz, one of the most photographed bays in Turkey, before continuing to quiet Kumburnu Beach. The return is on a gentler forest track. This Oludeniz day trip is graded easy, so no previous riding experience is needed; comfortable trousers and closed shoes are recommended. Hotel pick-up and drop-off in an air-conditioned vehicle are part of the day tour.

Hisaronu, Kayakoy & Kumburnu Horse Riding Programme Your guide meets you in the lobby of your hotel in Oludeniz and accompanies you by air-conditioned vehicle to the stables at Hisaronu, a small village set in the hills above the bay. After a short introduction to your horse, the ride begins on one of two routes, depending on whether you have booked the morning or the afternoon session. On the morning route you follow a shaded trail through the pine forest, listening to birdsong and the sound of hooves, and after about an hour and a quarter you arrive in Kayakoy. Here a 20-minute rest is taken at a traditional village tea and pancake house, and you are free to walk over to the old church in the abandoned settlement to see the remains of its religious paintings before riding back along the forest path. On the afternoon route you also set off from Hisaronu, riding for roughly an hour under the pines until the trail opens onto a hilltop overlooking the lagoon of Oludeniz. You then descend to Kumburnu Beach for a 30-minute break to rest and take photos by the clear turquoise sea, and return to the stables on a calmer woodland track. At the end of the ride you are driven back to your hotel.
