My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
This daily Dalyan city tour from Mugla takes you to the delta town of Dalyan on the southwest coast, a place where history and nature meet at every bend of the river. In one guided day tour you cruise to the cliff tombs of Kaunos, explore the ancient city itself, relax on the protected sands of Iztuzu and enjoy free time on the shore of Koycegiz Lake.
Dalyan sits in the heart of its own river delta and is known above all for the rock tombs of Kaunos. These temple-fronted burial chambers were cut into sheer rock for kings and aristocrats, and experts regard them as a measure of the wealth the city once enjoyed. Legend says Kaunos was founded in the 4th century BC by a twin son of Miletos; in the archaic period it was a coastal port, and the tombs were deliberately placed to overlook the landscape.
Iztuzu Beach is shared between people and wildlife: visitors swim and sunbathe during the day, but at night the beach is closed to give hundreds of nesting turtles the peace they need. Koycegiz Lake came into being around 7,500 years ago after a series of earthquakes; fed by the Namnam and Yuvarlakcay rivers, mountain streams and warm sulphurous springs, it reaches depths of 20 to 60 metres and is rich in fish. This daily excursion is relaxed in pace and suitable for all ages. Entrance fees for the listed sites are included, while lunch is not included – an easy Dalyan day trip from Mugla with transport in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle.

Dalyan, Kaunos & Koycegiz Lake Programme Your day begins with pickup from your hotel in Mugla and a comfortable drive to Dalyan, where the boats wait at the start of the tour. The first stop is the Kaunos Rock Tombs, the dramatic graves carved in Lycian style into cliffs that rise almost vertically; your guide explains their construction and what they say about the prosperity of the ancient city. You then continue to Kaunos itself, a once-thriving port on the border of Caria and Lycia, traditionally said to have been founded by Kaunos, son of Miletos, and walk among its ruins with fine views of the tomb-lined rock face. Next the route leads to Iztuzu Beach, a long stretch of sand where loggerhead turtles nest, giving you time to swim, sunbathe or stroll by the waves. Please note that lunch is not part of the tour price. The last stop is Koycegiz Lake, fed by rivers, mountain brooks and warm springs, where you have around one hour of free time to relax by the water. At the end of the tour you are driven back to your hotel in Mugla.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
