My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
Our daily Canakkale Turkish bath tour offers a restful break from sightseeing in one of the traditional hamams of the city, housed in a historic building. This easy-going day tour includes pickup from your hotel, transport in an air-conditioned, non-smoking coach and the services of a professional English-speaking guide, followed by free time for shopping in the city centre.
The hamam is one of the most enduring traditions of Turkish daily life, with roots that reach back to the bathhouses of the Roman Empire. Like its Roman ancestor, a Turkish bath is divided into three areas: a cool room for resting, a warm room for acclimatising and a hot room where steam opens the pores. Each hamam has its own trained staff for the exfoliating scrub; male attendants are known as tellak and female attendants as natir.
During the visit you move gently from one room to the next, enjoy the warmth of the marble and receive the traditional scrub that leaves the skin soft and refreshed. Afterwards there is time to rest before continuing to the city centre to browse the shops. It is wise to bring a change of clothes and to keep valuables to a minimum.
This daily excursion from Canakkale is a pleasant complement to a busy programme of historic sites around the Dardanelles. Lunch is not included, so you can choose a local restaurant in town during your free time before returning to your hotel.

Canakkale Traditional Turkish Bath Programme Your day begins with pickup from your hotel in the morning, after which you travel in an air-conditioned coach to one of the traditional Turkish baths of Canakkale, set in a historic building. On arrival your guide explains the origins of hamam culture, which goes back to the bathing customs of the Roman Empire, and how a Turkish bath is still organised today into three sections: a cold area, a warm area and a hot area, just as in a Roman bath. You then enjoy the experience at your own pace, warming up gradually before the attendants carry out the traditional scrub, an exfoliating ritual performed by the tellak for men and the natir for women. Once the scrub is complete you have time to relax and unwind as the bathing ritual comes to a close. Afterwards you head to the city centre for some free time, ideal for shopping, a coffee or lunch at your own expense. At the end of the programme you are transferred back to your hotel, where the tour finishes.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
