The ancient city, known to the Hittites as Wilusa and later called Ilion, stood in the Hisarlık region of Çanakkale and inspired countless myths over thousands of years. Immortalized by Homer in the Iliad and the Odyssey, the tale – believed to be set around 1180 BC – blends dreams with reality and history with imagination, and it remains a cornerstone of Western cultural heritage.
On stage, the production is nothing short of colossal: around 150,000 watts of energy power the show, complemented by roughly 2,000 costumes, 5,400 beads and 300 specially designed shoes. The result is a dazzling recreation of the Trojan epic, performed in its homeland some 3,000 years after the events that inspired it.
Practical notes: Bring your camera – you will want to capture the most spectacular moments. In May and October the arena seats can be damp and the evenings chilly, so we recommend taking a towel or cushion to sit on. Evening Pick-up and Troy Dance Show at Aspendos Arena Your evening begins with a warm welcome from our team and pick-up from your hotel in the Antalya area at approximately 19:00–19:30. From there, you travel in a comfortable, fully air-conditioned, non-smoking coach to the impressive Aspendos Arena, one of the region's most remarkable performance venues. Your two-hour ticket gives you access to the legendary Troy dance show, a production that revives a story rooted in events believed to have taken place around 1180 BC. The ancient city of Troy – called Wilusa by the Hittites and later known as Ilion – stood in the Hisarlık region of Çanakkale and became the foundation of countless myths. Written down by Homer in his immortal Iliad and Odyssey, the tale is now recreated on a magnificent stage with around 150,000 watts of energy, 2,000 costumes, 5,400 beads and 300 specially designed shoes. Seating is free, so you may choose your spot, and an optional VIP package with private welcome, alcohol-free VIP bar and premium location is available for an extra fee. Remember to bring your camera to capture the highlights, and in May and October a towel or cushion is recommended as seats may be damp and the air cool. After the show, you are transferred comfortably back to your hotel in Antalya.
