Bac Pansiyon is a small, long-established boutique guesthouse on Cumhuriyet Caddesi in the Çarşı quarter of Bodrum, right in the historic heart of the town. The front door opens onto the lively street of shops, cafés, bars and restaurants that leads from the bazaar towards the castle, while the back of the building faces the sea and the eastern bay. Bodrum Castle is only about 300 m away, and Bodrum Marina and the bus station are each within roughly 1 km on foot.

The pension dates back to the early days of tourism in Bodrum, when travellers stayed in local family homes, and it keeps the name "Bac" from those years. The interior has a warm, rustic style with red mahogany woodwork, wooden furniture, a cosy lounge at the entrance and a traditional breakfast hall with a black-and-white chequered floor. Breakfast is included and is served on the covered seaside terrace, where guests can also relax at any time of day while looking out over the boats in the bay and the castle.

Rooms are bright and spotlessly kept, with wooden furnishings, air conditioning, a TV and a minibar, and some open onto small balconies with sea views. Free high-speed WiFi is available throughout. With its central position and friendly, family-style service, Bac Pansiyon suits couples and travellers who want to explore Bodrum on foot; note that cars cannot drive up to the door, but paid parking is available nearby.

Milas-Bodrum Airport is about 32 km away, roughly a 35-40 minute drive. From the pension you can walk to Bodrum Castle and its Museum of Underwater Archaeology, the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, the harbour and the town beach, and join boat trips to the bays of the peninsula or ferries to the Greek island of Kos.
