From here the trails wind through cool pine forest toward Kayakoy, the hauntingly beautiful 'Ghost Town' abandoned after the 1923 population exchange between Greece and Turkey. Its roofless stone houses and old churches, some still bearing traces of Christian frescoes, make it one of the most atmospheric sights on the Turquoise Coast.
The afternoon option of this daily tour heads instead toward Oludeniz, world-famous for its sheltered Blue Lagoon and dazzling turquoise water. From a hilltop vantage point you will enjoy one of the finest views in the region, before pausing at Kumburnu Beach to relax, swim or photograph the lagoon. Daily Fethiye Horse Riding Tour – Hisaronu, Kayakoy or Oludeniz Your day begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Fethiye and a short transfer to the starting point in the hill resort of Hisaronu. After meeting your professional guide and being matched with a gentle, well-trained horse suited to your experience level, you will receive a brief introduction before setting off. On the morning route, you ride along a shaded forest path scented with pine, listening to the sounds of nature as the trail leads you toward Kayakoy. The ride takes roughly one hour and fifteen minutes, ending at the famous Ghost Town, where you pause for around twenty minutes at a traditional tea and pancake house to sample local flavours. During the stop you may also step inside the old church to see the surviving depictions of Christianity on its walls. Afterwards, you ride back along the same tranquil forest trail to Hisaronu. If you choose the afternoon departure, you instead follow a peaceful pine-shaded path that climbs to a hilltop revealing a spectacular panorama over Oludeniz and its celebrated Blue Lagoon. You then continue to Kumburnu Beach, where you have around thirty minutes to unwind on the sand, soak up the sun and photograph the turquoise water. The return ride follows a calm forest route at an easy pace. At the end of the tour, you are transferred comfortably back to your hotel in Fethiye.
