My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!

Daily Amasya Borabay Lake Tour – Nature Day Trip
Daily Amasya Borabay Lake Tour
Escape the city for a refreshing full-day excursion to Borabay Lake, one of the most beautiful natural treasures of Turkey's Black Sea region. This Amasya day trip takes you from the historic streets of Amasya into a landscape of dense forests, mountain air and mirror-calm waters — a perfect daily tour for nature lovers, photographers and anyone seeking peace away from the crowds.
- Borabay Lake (Borabay Gölü): A stunning crater lake set at around 1,000 metres altitude, famous for its emerald-green water and the small island-like wooden house that has become its iconic image.
- Lakeside walking paths: Enjoy a leisurely stroll around the shore, surrounded by pine and beech forests that turn golden in autumn.
- Photo opportunities: Capture the reflections of the surrounding mountains on the still surface of the lake, one of the most photographed scenes in the Amasya region.
- Fresh mountain air: Relax in the cool highland climate, a welcome contrast to the warm valley of Amasya in summer.
Borabay Lake lies in the Taşova district of Amasya province, roughly 60 kilometres from the city centre. Formed as a natural dammed (crater) lake, it sits in a bowl of forested hills and has been developed as a recreational area with walking trails, picnic spots and tea gardens along its banks. The lake's tranquil atmosphere and dramatic scenery have made it one of the most beloved daily excursion destinations in the Black Sea hinterland.
Your day tour begins in Amasya, a city celebrated for its Ottoman-era riverside mansions, the rock tombs of the Pontic kings and its dramatic setting along the Yeşilırmak River. From here you travel through the green countryside to Borabay, where you will have ample free time to walk, relax and soak up the scenery before returning to Amasya in the late afternoon.
Practical notes: This is a full-day tour of approximately 7 hours. Comfortable walking shoes and a light jacket are recommended, as temperatures at the lake can be cooler than in the city. The tour is available as a regular group service or as a private tour on request.

What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
