In recent years the area has been transformed into a unique underwater museum: statues honoring Seyit Onbasi, the legendary Turkish corporal famed for carrying heavy artillery shells during the Gallipoli battles, were sunk here together with figures of his fellow soldiers, creating a moving tribute beneath the waves.
The deliberately sunk Airbus A330 and Coast Guard vessel have added another dimension to the site, attracting divers of all levels who come to explore these impressive artificial reefs. Edirne – Ibrice Diving Tour
Your day begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Edirne, followed by a comfortable drive in a fully air-conditioned, non-smoking vehicle to Ibrice, a charming town on the Saros Gulf coast on the European side of Turkey.
