We meet you at the Bodrum ferry port with your private guide and vehicle and time the programme to the ferry schedule. The kanun is a trapezoid zither with dozens of strings, plucked with small finger picks, and it gives Turkish classical music its shimmering, ornamented sound. A Fasil ensemble is the traditional tavern and banquet orchestra of Ottoman and Turkish entertainment, playing light classical songs that the audience often sings along to.

Belly dancing, the highlight for many guests, is presented as an elegant floorshow, and the evening closes with a nostalgic finale. Turkish coffee, brewed slowly in a small pot and served thick with its grounds, rounds off the night in a homely corner furnished with lace, a nod to the hospitality of a Turkish household.
