My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
Daily Agzikara Hani Tour from Aksaray – Caravanserai & Museum
Daily Agzikara Hani Tour from Aksaray
Step back into the age of the Seljuks on this relaxed, fully guided day tour from Aksaray. In just one day you will explore a magnificent 13th-century caravanserai, browse a museum housing remarkable mummies from the Ihlara Valley, and stand beneath a minaret that leans like a Turkish Tower of Pisa. With hotel transfers, lunch and all entrance fees included, this Aksaray day trip is an effortless way to discover a lesser-known corner of Cappadocia.
- Agzikara Hani: a grand Seljuk caravanserai raised between 1231 and 1239, standing 16 km northeast of Aksaray.
- Aksaray Museum: modern displays on early Cappadocian human history, crowned by a small but fascinating collection of mummies recovered in the Ihlara Valley.
- Egri Minare: the curious leaning minaret of old Aksaray, affectionately nicknamed the Turkish Tower of Pisa by locals.
The highlight of this daily excursion is Agzikara Hani, one of the finest surviving examples of Seljuk roadside architecture. Built during the 1230s, these fortified inns once sheltered merchants and their caravans travelling the great Silk Road routes across Anatolia. Its monumental portal and sturdy stone halls still convey the wealth and ambition of the Seljuk era.
Back in the city, Aksaray Museum impresses with its scale and its revamped galleries, which feature clear English information panels tracing the region's earliest human story. The star attraction is the group of mummies unearthed in the nearby Ihlara Valley — a rare and memorable sight. The day concludes at the Egri Minare, erected in 1236 and tilting at roughly 27 degrees, a quirky landmark that has delighted visitors for generations.
This easy-paced daily tour suits all ages and fitness levels. Pickup and drop-off at your Aksaray hotel, a professional English-speaking guide, lunch and entrance fees are all covered, so you can simply enjoy the journey.

Daily Agzikara Hani Tour
Your day begins with a morning pickup from your hotel in Aksaray, followed by a short drive of about 16 km northeast of the city to Agzikara Hani. This imposing Seljuk caravanserai, constructed between 1231 and 1239, once provided safe lodging for traders and their animals along Anatolia's medieval caravan routes. Your guide will explain the building's architecture and its role in Silk Road commerce. Next, the tour continues to Aksaray Museum, a massive and easy-to-spot building on the main road leading from the bus station toward the city centre. Inside, the renewed exhibitions cover early Cappadocian human history with excellent English information boards, while the prize exhibit is a small collection of mummies discovered in the Ihlara Valley. The final stop is the curious Egri Minare in the older quarter of Aksaray. Dating from 1236, it leans at an angle of about 27 degrees, which is why locals inevitably call it the Turkish Tower of Pisa. After enjoying this unusual sight, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Aksaray, where the tour ends.

What Our Travellers Say
Real, verified reviews from travellers who explored Turkey with us.
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.

Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
