Turkey is one of the few countries where guiding is a protected profession. Every professional tourist guide listed here holds a licence and an ID card issued under Law No. 6326 on the Profession of Tourist Guiding, has completed university-level training in history, archaeology, art history, mythology and religions, and is a registered member of one of the regional guide chambers united under TÜREB. Do I need a licensed guide in Turkey?

Only licensed tourist guides are allowed to guide groups at museums and archaeological sites in Turkey. Independent travellers can visit on their own, but any organised guided tour must use a licensed guide.

How much does a private tour guide cost in Turkey?

Daily fees depend on the language, the destination, the season and the group size. Rare languages such as Japanese, Korean or Chinese usually cost more than English. Send a request and we will quote the exact daily fee for your dates.
