My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
This daily Konya tour from Mersin crosses the Taurus region to the city of Rumi and the Whirling Dervishes, one of the great cultural centres of Anatolia. With hotel pickup in Mersin, lunch and a professional English-speaking guide, the full-day excursion brings together three of Konya's most important landmarks before returning you to the coast in the evening.
Konya served as the capital of the Anatolian Seljuks, and its monuments still reflect that golden age of architecture, scholarship and mysticism. The Alaaddin Mosque, set on the hill at the centre of the city, is counted among the largest and oldest Seljuk mosques in Konya and has watched over the old town for centuries. Nearby, the Karatay Madrasa was built as a theological school in the Seljuk period and today operates as a museum, admired for its decorative tilework and refined stone portal. Visiting these two sites gives a clear picture of how the Seljuks combined faith, learning and art.
The highlight of this day tour is the Mevlana Museum, the tomb of the 13th-century Sufi poet Jalal ad-Din Rumi and former lodge of the Mevlevi order, whose message of tolerance still draws visitors from every part of the world. Because the drive between Mersin and Konya is long, this daily excursion makes for a full day, so comfortable clothing and a light layer for the bus are a good idea; modest dress is appreciated at the mosque and the museum. It is an easy-paced cultural outing suited to all ages and an ideal way to see Konya without changing hotels.

Mersin to Konya Programme The day starts early with pickup from your hotel in Mersin, followed by a comfortable drive in an air-conditioned vehicle through the countryside and up towards the Konya plateau. On arrival your English-speaking guide begins the city programme at the Alaaddin Mosque, one of the oldest and largest mosques of the Anatolian Seljuk era in Konya. The tour continues to the Karatay Madrasa Museum, a former Seljuk theological school that now displays its heritage as a museum, and then to the Mevlana Museum, the resting place of Rumi and once the lodge of the Whirling Dervishes, where you learn about Sufi philosophy and the traditions of the Mevlevi order. Lunch is included during the day. Once the visits are complete, you set off on the return journey south and are dropped off at your hotel in Mersin in the evening, ending a long but rewarding day in one of Turkey's most meaningful cities.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
