Two of Turkey's most spectacular regions in one 6-night group tour: the turquoise Mediterranean coast of Antalya and the surreal volcanic valleys of Cappadocia, connected by a short domestic flight that is already included. You stay in hand-picked hotels of your chosen category, are met at every airport and join small group excursions led by a professional English-speaking guide – Roman cities, Byzantine cave churches, underground cities and the white terraces of Pamukkale without any planning stress.
In Kaleiçi, the historic walled quarter of Antalya, cobbled lanes lead past restored Ottoman mansions to Hadrian's Gate, built in honour of the Roman emperor in 130 AD, the Clock Tower and the fluted Yivli Minaret, the symbol of the city. The Lower Düden Waterfall pours straight off the cliffs into the sea, and a boat trip along the coast shows you the old Roman harbour and the Falez cliffs from the water.
A full-day excursion takes you inland to Pamukkale, the "Cotton Castle", a UNESCO World Heritage Site where calcium-rich thermal springs have created brilliant white travertine terraces. Above them lies Hierapolis, the ancient Greco-Roman spa city with its monumental theatre, colonnaded street and vast necropolis, and Cleopatra's Antique Pool, where you can swim among submerged Roman columns.
In the north of the region you climb to the viewpoint of Uçhisar Castle, the tallest rock citadel of Cappadocia, and step inside the Göreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose rock-cut churches such as the Dark Church preserve vivid Byzantine frescoes. The mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys of Paşabağ (Monks Valley), the animal-shaped rocks of Devrent (Imagination Valley) and the pottery town of Avanos on the Red River complete the day.
South Cappadocia reveals another world: Derinkuyu Underground City descends eight levels into the rock and once sheltered thousands of people with their animals, wells and chapels. The Ihlara Valley, a 16-kilometre canyon cut by the Melendiz river, hides more than a hundred rock churches along a shaded riverside trail, and the vast Selime Monastery, carved into the cliff face, is one of the largest religious complexes in the region.

After breakfast your guide collects you for a full day in Antalya. You stroll through Kaleiçi, the old walled town, passing Hadrian's Gate, the Clock Tower and the Yivli Minaret, and visit the Lower Düden Waterfall where the river plunges straight into the Mediterranean. A relaxing boat trip along the coast shows you the cliffs and the old harbour from the sea. Lunch is included. Overnight in Antalya.
An early start for a scenic drive through the Taurus foothills to Pamukkale. Walk barefoot on the dazzling white travertine terraces, explore the ancient city of Hierapolis with its great theatre and necropolis, and – if you like – swim in Cleopatra's Antique Pool (optional, extra). Lunch is included before the drive back to Antalya. Overnight in Antalya.
After breakfast you are transferred to Antalya Airport (AYT) for your domestic flight to Cappadocia (direct or via Istanbul, included). On arrival at Nevşehir Cappadocia Airport (NAV) you are met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Your guide collects you after breakfast for the classic North Cappadocia tour. Take in the panorama from Uçhisar Castle, the highest rock citadel in the region, visit the rock-cut churches and frescoes of the Göreme Open-Air Museum, and walk among the fairy chimneys of Paşabağ (Monks Valley) and Devrent (Imagination Valley). After lunch in a local restaurant you stop in Avanos, famous for its pottery made from the red clay of the Kızılırmak river. Overnight in Cappadocia.
A full day in South Cappadocia. After the Pigeon Valley viewpoint you descend into Derinkuyu Underground City, a multi-level refuge carved deep into the soft rock. Then hike along the Melendiz river in the Ihlara Valley, passing rock-cut churches, and enjoy a riverside lunch in Belisırma village. The day ends at the cliff-carved Selime Monastery. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Nevşehir Cappadocia Airport (NAV) for your flight home (direct or connecting in Istanbul). End of our services.
