Highlights of the 4‑Day Central Anatolia Journey

This four-day private tour is based in Turkey’s capital, Ankara, and uses it as a comfortable hub for two full-day excursions into the Central Anatolian heartland. After your airport transfer and hotel check-in on the first day, the rest of the afternoon is free to settle in and get a first feel for the city around Kızılay.

The second day transports you to the Hittite heartland at Hattusas, a UNESCO World Heritage site near Boğazkale. Explore the monumental Grand Temple, walk through the Lion’s Gate and King’s Gate, descend into the ancient tunnel, and admire the open‑air sanctuary of Yazılıkaya with its rock‑carved deities. These ruins reveal the power and spirituality of an empire that once ruled much of the Near East.

On day three you’ll arrive in the charming Ottoman town of Beypazarı, famed for its well‑preserved wooden houses and bustling market. Climb Hıdırlık Hill for panoramic views, visit the local Hamam Museum and Living Museum, and see the historic Alaeddin Mosque. The market offers a tasting tour of regional specialties – the famous local carrots, handmade baklava, sun‑dried fruits and the crisp “Beypazarı Kurusu” bread – while artisans showcase copperware, embroidery and wooden crafts. The journey ends back in Ankara, ready for your onward travel.

Three nights in an Ankara hotel with breakfast, two local lunches, an English-speaking guide on the excursion days, entrance fees and all airport transfers are included, so you can simply enjoy the history.
