About Mersin Maritime Museum
It was established with the aim of reflecting the social, historical and technical development of the Naval Forces Command and to communicate with civil society, especially children, based on the goal of the great leader Atatürk “To make maritime the great ideal of the Turk”. Mersin Naval Museum has become the fourth museum in the field of maritime in our country after the Istanbul Naval Museum, which was established in 1897 under the name of "Navy Museum and Library Administration", Çanakkale Naval Museum established in 1982 and İskenderun Naval Museum established in 2009.
Naval forces of social, historical and technical development according to reflect the period of Turkish maritime history of any objects that belong to the history of the province of Mersin, artifacts, testimonial, photographs and documents to collect and bring out qualities in accordance with our understanding of the modern museum the historic task of displaying the loaded ended our vision for Maritime Museum, promote and extend the civil society, especially children to communicate with maritime culture to introduce the Turkish maritime history and transfer to future generations in a healthy way, enrich our collection, presentation and service is to become a museum sample.
Mersin Maritime Museum consists of three independent halls, Barbaros Main Exhibition Hall, Ertuğrul and Fossil Hall, and indoor / outdoor exhibition areas.
