Our daily Teos and Sigacik tour from Cesme pairs a charming fishing village wrapped inside Ottoman walls with the ruins of Teos, one of the old Ionian cities of the Aegean coast. It is an easy-going day tour that mixes village life, local culture and ancient history.
Guests staying on Chios can enjoy the Teos & Sigacik Tour as a day trip from the Greek islands to Turkey — from Chios the ferry takes 20 minutes, so the excursion can be planned between the morning and evening sailings. Pickup is at the Çeşme ferry terminal, and the tour is timed so you can catch the return ferry comfortably. For longer itineraries we check the ferry timetable first and confirm that the full programme fits your day. Please bring your passport and check the Turkish entry requirements for your nationality before travelling.
Sigacik grew up around its sixteenth-century fortress, and today many families still live within the walls. Stone and whitewashed houses line restored historic lanes, some now converted into cosy restaurants, and the small harbour with its fish market is known for lovely sunsets. Close to the castle stand Ottoman buildings that once served the townspeople, and the nearby Culture Museum displays everyday objects from the region's past.
Just 5 km away lies Teos, first settled in the 10th century BC. The site preserves its acropolis, a theatre, sections of the walls and the old harbour, but its pride is the Temple of Dionysus, regarded as the largest temple in Anatolia dedicated to the god of wine.
This guided daily excursion and Sigacik day trip includes hotel pickup and drop-off in Cesme and entrance fees for the visits listed. Lunch is at your own expense, and the castle lanes offer plenty of choice. The return to Cesme starts at around 17:00 to 18:00.

Sigacik & Teos Ancient City Programme You are collected from your hotel in Cesme and driven to Sigacik, a fishing village on the Izmir coast. Begin at the harbour, where the fish market and waterfront restaurants sit near the remarkable statue of Ataturk standing aboard a sailboat and gazing out to sea. Your guide then leads you into Sigacik Castle, erected in 1522 during the reign of Suleyman the Magnificent. Inside the walls you stroll along restored historic lanes lined with stone and lime-washed houses, some still family homes and others turned into atmospheric restaurants, where you can choose a spot for lunch at your own expense. Nearby you can also see the Suleyman Han Mosque, a Turkish bath, the medrese that once served as an Ottoman school, and an old water cistern. Before heading to the ruins you stop at the Culture Museum beside the castle to look at ethnographic pieces found in the area. The tour then continues 5 km to Teos, a city first inhabited in the 10th century BC, where you visit the acropolis, the ancient theatre, the city walls, the old harbour and the great Temple of Dionysus. Between about 17:00 and 18:00 the group sets off back to Cesme for drop-off at your hotel.

My husband and I chose Inca Tour for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did. The boutique hotel selection was beautiful and the Bosphorus dinner cruise was so romantic. Thank you for making our trip special!
It was important for us to have a guide who spoke Russian, and Ender was wonderful. He explained every detail at Dolmabahce Palace. The Princes Islands day trip was a beautiful break from the busy city.
Our guide Ender was incredibly knowledgeable about Turkish history. The hot-air balloon ride at sunrise in Cappadocia was the highlight of our trip. Everything was perfectly organized — from airport pick-up to the last d...
Ender was our Italian-speaking guide and we felt like family. He took us to local spots tourists never see. The hotel choice in Sultanahmet was perfect for walking everywhere.
10+ years later we still talk about our Cappadocia balloon ride and the Bosphorus sunset cruise. Some memories are timeless. Thank you Inca Tour!
