Miniaturk, on the shore of the Golden Horn, is often described as the largest miniature park in the world. Its 105 models recreate monuments from across Turkey at one twenty-fifth of their real size, so in a single walk you can see Anatolian temples, Byzantine churches and Ottoman mosques side by side. Highlights include the Mausoleum of Mausolus from ancient Halicarnassus, today's Bodrum, and the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, both counted among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Pierre Loti Hill takes its name from Pierre Loti, the French novelist and naval officer who loved this spot and drew on his Istanbul years in his novel Aziyade. From the terrace you look down over the old Eyup Sultan Cemetery to the curving waters of the Golden Horn, ideally with a glass of tea in hand.
